Plot 164: The Trophy
Muse A is the very definition of first class. They come from a wealthy background and a long line of successful business tycoons who have always known how to get ahead. Muse A is no exception. After graduating from a prestigious university, they took a seat on the board of their familys company and quickly proved that their hire wasnt just a case of nepotism. Though they had some critics when first getting started, Muse A took the company into a brand-new direction and managed to stay at the top for years. With a high profile career like that, Muse A has had a high profile social life. Their circle of friends is exclusive and highly sought after, and its quite hard to get a foot in the door with them.
Muse A met Muse B on a cross country flight when they were bumped up to first class and seated next to them. Though they hit it off almost instantly, when Muse B mentions that theyre unemployed and currently not even looking for a job, Muse A knows its going to be a problem. They really get along though, so once they land, they make plans to go on an actual date. The chemistry is there, definitely, but Muse A refuses to bring Muse B around any of their friends. In fact, their friends are under the impression that Muse A is still very much single. Muse B has never made a big deal about it, but when, after a year and a half of dating, they propose to Muse A, one of the stipulations is that they need to be introduced to people in their life if theyre going to be together forever.
Though reluctant, Muse A hosts a dinner party for their friends to meet Muse B. They hope that at this point, their friends can overlook the fact that Muse B doesnt seem to have anything going for them other than their looks and accept them into their exclusive group.
Twist! One of Muse As friends recognize Muse B as the heir of an incredibly well known socialite that runs in a different circle than theirs. Muse B is worth more than Muse A is, and when Muse B finds out that Muse A was ashamed of them, drama ensues.
Plot 145: Partners in Crime
Muse A, a tenacious crime boss, is frustrated by yet another news headline about a big crime bust in the city which has ties to their own illicit operations. It seems that the mayors been making good on his promise to eradicate crime as of late (probably because hes looking to run for Senator in the upcoming elections) and that ultimately spells trouble for Muse A. Its only a matter of time before someone from the Mayors camp comes sniffing around Muse As nightclub, which operates as a front for their money laundering, but Muse A wants the Mayor dealt with before that happens. As fate would have it, Muse A isnt the only one who wants the Mayor gone.
Muse B, the Mayors child, sees right through the tele-prompted speeches, contrived family photo ops, and the empty promises of a crime-free city. Muse B has seen and heard their father conducting his own illegal practices and knows firsthand that the Mayor is not a good man. Muse B has lost all respect for their corrupt father and only feels disdain and fear toward him. Its by coincidence that Muse B enters Muse As nightclub after a volatile confrontation with their father, but it isnt a coincidence when Muse A recognizes Muse B and invites them to the VIP area to talk. In this secluded area of the club, Muse B spills all of their concerns to Muse A and Muse A offers protection in exchange for information. Muse B agrees to spy on their father for Muse A with the understanding that, at the opportune moment, Muse A will get rid of the Mayor.
Plot 142: A Little Surprise
Muse A is annoyed when someone rings their doorbell late at night. When they answer the door, theyre even more annoyed to come face-to-face with their ex,Muse B. Muse B, typically smug and rude, looks panicked and makes a plea for Muse As help. Bitter about the sour ending of their relationship by Muse Bs fault, Muse A is poised to slam the door shut in Muse Bs face. Just before they can, a pint-sized kid peers out from behind Muse Bs legs and asks to use the bathroom. Muse A may loathe Muse B, but they arent heartless, so they let the child in and begrudgingly also Muse B. While the child is in the bathroom, Muse A demands an explanation from their ex. Muse B breaks down and explains that the child is theirs but they only recently found out. The kid was left at their door by their other parent and theyre freaking out because they have no idea how to raise the child, especially not alone. Muse B came to Muse A for help because they have no one else to turn to. Muse A is sympathetic, mainly for the child, and only because of this does Muse A agree to help.
