I actually really like this plot, it's gay and cute:
Muse A's village calls him a blessing. He can predict the rain and floods, and his very presence seems to make the crops flourish. Although the village once had a doctor, the ill often turn to him, as he can heal almost anything with the right mixture of herbs and some carefully muttered prayers. Animals and children love him, and though when he was a child they wanted to burn him at the stake, even the elderly have come to appreciate him.
When asked his secrets, Muse A is never sure how to respond. He genuinely doesn't know, the 'gifts' have come naturally to him since birth. People used to whisper the word witch when he was younger, but Muse A has never owned a spell book in his life. His parents were quick to crush that accusation, anyways.
Muse B feels trapped. Their colony is full of powerful fairies, some sure to become legend, and here he is: Stuck on the ground. Flightless, magic-less, and almost utterly useless. Muse B sometimes wishes that he'd been killed along with all the other infants that were switched out at birth. He's not sure why he wasn't, really: Something about moons and a prophecy about a fire. No one will really answer his questions.
Most of the fairies treat him like another statue in the castle. They give him a wide berth and don't dare touch or speak to him. To say the least, after almost eighteen years of it, Muse B is going mad.
So, it only comes naturally that he decides to go on his first excursion from the palace on his birthday, as a gift to himself. The fact that the trip isn't approved is entirely irrelevant.
He doesn't make is that far, before he runs into Muse A, slightly burnt and panicked. The smoldering boy is hard to understand, but Muse B pieces together this much: His village was attacked, and his parents are dead, and the people who killed them hadn't selected his village by chance.
Muse B sees Muse A for what he is instantly: A fairy, and the prince at that.
And he understands the frantic rambling as well: Hunters, coming to destroy the last of the royal line.
Muse B doesn't think this is the sort of excitement he was hoping for.

So this is based on the changeling thing?? Basically Muse A (a fairy prince lmao I'm so gay) and Muse B (a human) were switched at birth, and Muse B was kept alive because of a prophecy stating that one day, he'd save said prince. BASICALLY EVERYTHING MUSE A KNOWS IS A LIE AND MUSE B IS ANGSTY AND IS LIKE?? WHAT SORT OF BS--
