Krotos said "I just wanted to help."
-
"No you cannot. And it's nice that you were, but it's still Forbidden Magic, and to be honest, if I hadn't asked for you to be sent to me you probably would have been banished, or maybe even killed." Terrell told them. Ash rolled his eyes, "I still don't see why we should listen to you, if people tried to banish me I could just make them explode."
-
Dolly sighed. This was a LOT of fuss over one spell..."Okay. I won't make forbidden magic anymore." Dolly sighed, holding her hands behind her head to relax and hide her hands so she could cross her fingers. "And I promise I won't use my spell anymore." She told him. Just to impress Ash, she put her crossed finger where he could see and maybe the others but not the servant.
-
Krotos said "Okay, I won't use the spell anymore. I give you the word of a griffin."
-
(What servant? The only people in the room are Dolly, Krotos, Ash, Sorcha, and Terrell.)
Ash sat back down, put his hands behind his head, and his hooves on the table. When he saw Dolly crossing her fingers he couldn't keep himself from grinning. He also crossed his fingers and said, "I promise not to do any more Forrbidden Magic Mr. Grand Wizard Sir."
Sorcha nodded, sat up a bit straighter, and said, "I swear to you, Terrell Vadim the elf and Grand Wizard of Lucem, that I, Sorcha Uistean the sphinx, will no longer preform any kind of Forbidden Magic, even if my life depended on it." she was lying, and she doubted that Terrell would realize this as she wasn't crossing her fingers, not that she technically had fingers.
Terrell felt that something was off, the fact that both Dolly and Ash put their hands behind their head could be a coincidence, but that added to Ash's sudden grin and his sudden willingness to cooperate, and the too formal way Sorcha promised made him suspicious. To make sure they were all telling the truth he silently cast a see back in time spell to when Dolly promised and he then cast lie detecting spell on top of it. After getting his answer he looked back at the four teenagers who had no way of knowing he just did any kind of spell, and said in a serious tone, "Don't lie to me." -
(I thought Terell was the castles servant. I've been referring to him as the servant this whole time. Though I did get confused when he started asking questions.)
Dolly blinked and frowned. "Oh yeah. You're a wizard too. Forgot that." Dolly sighed. "Okay. Maybe I can survive without using the curse again. But I don't have to remove the curse from those I already used it on right? Because then he would have to kill the horse he brought back to life." Dolly reasoned, pointing to Krotos. -
Krotos said "I'm not lying, I swear."
-
-
"You don't have to undo the spells you have already done, but you must destroy the pages of your spell books on which you wrote down the spells." Terrell told them. Sorcha stared at the Grand Wizard as if he just told them to murder their entire families, "W-What?! Do you not know how long it takes to make a spell? Especially a Blood Spell? I'm not going to destroy my hard work just because you said so, I don't care if you are the Grand Wizard, I'm not going to do it." Terrell sighed, "Why would you need to keep the spell if you're not going to use it?" the sphinx now stared at him as if he was an idiot, "Because I can use parts of it for other spells, even if they aren't Blood Spells certain parts can be the same. And other people could learn from it as well, after all, isn't learning from old spells a large part of how new spells are made?" it was Terrell's turn to stare now, he was annoyed at how he couldn't find an argument against Sorcha's reasoning, and he got more annoyed when Ash said, "Yeah! What she said."
-
Dolly sighed in relief. But wondered what happened if something like this would happen again. She couldn't risk people sharing her secrets now that she had a way to stop them. "Well... I'd promise that I'll stop using them. But you know when I'm lying. Plus Sordra here has a point. What if other people need to use my spell in the future? I mean, even the government could use my spell to keep their secrets hushed." Dolly reasoned, unaware that she revealed that her curse was meant to keep secrets.
-
Krotos just stayed silent and ordered more water.
-
Terrell still couldn't come up with a good response, so he just said, "Well, I suppose you're right, but you still have to destroy the pages." Sorcha huffed, "Not without a good reason." Terrell sighed again, if he couldn't convince them to destroy the pages they might have to stay here until he could, and he didn't really want that. Ash looked at Terrell and asked, "Hey, if you want us to destroy something, why do you have a problem with me doing Destruction Magic?" the elf looked at the satyr, "That is completely different." Ash snorted, "No it's not." Terrell restrained himself from groaning, "Yes, it is." These kids were really testing his patience.
-
"Actually, He has a point. We'll have to use magic to destroy magic. Using magic to destroy something would technically be distruction magic." Dolly told the elf. "Now that we've all made our points... When can we go home?" Dolly asked with an innocent smile.
-
Krotos was confused at Dolly's remarks. He said "Why do you have to use magic to destroy a spell? Wouldn't it be easier to tear it so shreds with your hands or just eat it?"
-
"Yes it would, the only reason you would need magic to destroy a spell is if either the paper or what was used to write the spell was enchanted or if you are actually destroying any possibility of the spell ever being used or made again, even if it's the easiest spell to make or use, it still won't be possible. Of course, the latter is only theoretical, as of now no one knows of any magic powerful enough to do that." Terrell explained.
Ash was intrigued, "Do you think I could use Destruction Magic to do that?" he asked Terrell, who simply looked at him and replied, "I said no more Forbidden Magic, and I doubt you'd be powerful enough to do so anyway."
