The country of Vita is a seemingly peaceful place. It hasn't been to war in thousands of years, the national crime rate is one of the lowest in the world, and the general happiness of it's citizens is one of the highest in the world. But unbeknownst to most people, there is a certain highly illegal business that is based in Vita, the soul trade. Souls are worth quite a bit of money, and can be used for many things, particularly magical type things, which is why the trade is so popular, but most still don't know it exists, nor that you can extract a soul from a person's body.
C1 has no soul, their parents sold it the day after they were born, and ever since they have never felt a single emotion nor cared about anything.
C2 has three souls, their father was curious and managed to add two souls to their body when they were a baby, so they are actually three people in one body.
C3 has a soul too big for their body, their mother added some more souls to them, but instead of having multiple souls like C2, their mother mixed the souls together, making C3 have a soul much bigger than a human soul should be, even for an adult(the bigger you are, bigger your soul is.). Because of their weird soul they act really weird and weird things happen around them, like grass growing suddenly way too fast.
C4 has a normal soul and normal parents. They used to live in Solar City, a big city that is always day, but their mother got tired of the excitement and energy of the city and decided that the family would move to a small town, particularly, a small town called Starville, where it is always night. C4 thinks that other than the fact that it's always night, Starville will be a normal town, how wrong they are. They soon meet C1, C2, and C3, who all happen to be their new neighbors, C1 across the street, C2 on the right, and C3 on the left. They notice how weird the three are and after some investigation they discover the soul trade, and what had been done to their three new friends.
The four friends then decide to leave town and find C1's soul, find new bodies for two of C2's souls, minimize C3's soul, and hopefully stop the soul trade all together.
Modern.
Starts when C4's parents are unpacking and they tell C4 to go and try to make some friends.

C1, C2, and C3 don't know what their parents did with their souls, nor that their problems have anything to do with their souls.
C1, C2, and C3 already know each other, but they aren't necessarily friends.
