Enoch walked quickly down the old road of his house to the street, his fist clamped around the strap of his backpack. He looked both ways as he trotted to the sidewalk. He was aware that he could use his powers to run faster than any car, but his mother told him to only use it in dire situations. He was among the living, after all. As it was, his family lived rather close to the school. He had no need to rush himself.
As the vampire approached the school, he noticed there were large groups of students traveling in packs. He watched as they all moved as one, talking amongst themselves and laughing. He pulled his backpack closer to his back, his knuckles going whiter than they had been before. Suddenly, a hand touched his shoulder. He whipped around, waiting to see the face of who had touched him.
A girl was there, smirking at him. Behind her, a male who was small and scrawny. Enoch smiled as he took in the sight of both of them. "You're here again," he said, relieved that it hadn't been someone else. They nodded, moving to be at his side. Both were humans and had no idea that he was a vampire- he intended to keep it that way, too. -
Ophelia wasn't expecting Thace to slam on the brakes, she put her hand out afraid that she'd slam against the seat. Her fingers bent at an odd angle, after they slowed down she pulled her hand back and clenched her fist a few times and then hid it in her lap. A few of her fingers stung but she decided to ignore it and look out the window as they approached the school, she felt her body become more tense and nervousness flow off her body as she saw it. She took in a deep shaky breath.
The pulled into the driveway of the school and the twins got in their last few bits of yelling before Thace parked the car. They both sighed, "Continue this-" Thace started
"later." Willa finished his sentence. Jace laughed and the three of them got out of the car at the same time, Ophelia of course messed it up by not going out at the same time, she also shut it at an off time compared to them. Thace and Willa both walked off ignoring her existence, Ophelia walked up to the front of the car and leaned on it. She jumped when it beeped from Thace locking it, Jace put his arm around her,
"Okay~! So go in that door turn left-" Jace continued to tell her directions to where the list for classes was posted. "Oh bye." He ran of and half jumped on a guy hiding in a hood, reading a book and walking up to the door. They continued walking away.
Ophelia pulled at her sleeves so they were covering her hands mostly. She could feel her hands shaking she bit her lip harshly and glanced around at the people and was slightly unsettled. She shook her head and pushed off the car and started to walk up to the school. -
Enoch and his friends chatted as they walked through the courtyard of the school. The vampire wasn't paying too much attention to the conversation, however. His mind was elsewhere. As he pondered over his own ordeals, Stacy spoke up rather loudly.
"Say, Enoch, you don't have a girlfriend, do you?" She looked up at Enoch, a smirk on her face. Puzzled, he shook his head, looking to Jerome. Jerome shrugged at him, implying he had no idea what was happening either. Both looked back at Stacy, curious to know what she was hinting at. Suddenly, she pointed to a girl that was walking alone to the grand entrance of the school. "Let's try her!" She exclaimed.
Before either of the boys could stop her, Stacy ran over to Ophelia, excitement sparkling in her eyes. She took the girl's hands without thinking and looked back to Enoch, smiling. "She's new, Enoch! Introduce yourself. I'm Stacy," she added, smiling to Ophelia. She truly had never seen the girl around before. -
Ophelia knew she should have gone and checked where she should have been going for class but she wasn't sure she could brave the mass crowd by herself and she'd already been abandoned... Her hands shook with her nervousness and in her deep thought she didn't hear anyone come up to her. When someone grabbed her hand she made a noise not quite loud enough to be a scream but not quiet enough to be a yelp. She quickly covered her mouth with the other hand and her face went pink and the tips of her ears red.
She stared at the girl named Stacy and over at her friends for a moment and then did a double take, He's like me she thought, she wasn't positive how she knew but she did the green in her yellow- hazel eyes brightened for a moment before she became embarrassed. She looked at the other male and then Stacy again her face a little redder now, "O-Ophelia." She said quietly and then tucked her hair around one ear in a shy. -
Enoch walked up to the duo, a small blush covering his pale skin. He held out his hand to Ophelia, dipping his head apologetically. "My name is Enoch. This is Stacy, and the male behind me is Jerome." He stood up straight, smiling. Stacy rolled her eyes, her hand on his shoulders.
Eagerly, she said, "You're new here, right? We don't get a lot of newcomers! I'm assuming that you don't know where you're going? We can help you. I promise. We're very, very helpful." Stacy laughed as Jerome finally caught up to them. "What are your classes?" -
Ophelia smiled at the people with a shy smile, she chuckled, "Yeah, I'm new, my parents have been homeschooling me until now! It's been a really long time since I've been to a school so I'm a little nervous..." She trailed off awkwardly, "Probably shouldn't have said that..." She mumbled regretting saying it and kicking herself mentally. She tilted her head slightly her eyes widening slightly, "Uh... class right... I uh..." She racked her mind trying to remember what class she had, "Don't remember." She said blushing and looking awkwardly at the ground, "Uh... English with... Dun. Thats what I have right now." She said pretty sure she remembers correctly but not knowing anything else.
