The patches of roses were lively as they danced with the wind. Silence filled the air as the two could down the path. ''It's rather peaceful like this, with just the two of us,'' Hendrina said, as she looked up toward Zack.

"Yeah,and enjoying this beauty beside me."Zack hummed.

Hendrina laughed at his compliment. Her cheeks flared red as she smiled at him. ''You're such a charmer,'' She said, giggles escaping past her lips.

Zack chuckled before hugging her.

Hendrina hummed, wrapping her arms around him. His scent was intoxicating to her, and she adored the smell. As the two approached the lake, Hendrina could hear soft splashes.

''It's probably some kids or the stray dog that they play with,'' In fact, Hendrina's predictions were wrong. It was a young witch, about fourteen working on their elemental water magic, holding a transparent glass potion blood as they attempted to fill it with water. The fourteen-year-old witch had long green and blue hair, split evenly on her head. Their blue eyes lifted to see the couple. Panicked, the young teen bowed in respect. ''I-I'm sorry!'' The young witch said, glancing back into the woods behind them.

"It's alright but I'm wondering what you are doing?"Zack asked.

''I-I need the water, to purify it from diseases, and use it for drinking,'' The young witch said, stepping back. ''M-My family is counting on me to bring back water,'' She added, glancing back into the woods. ''And hopefully food,'' The maiden mumbled, taking a step back from the lake, the water gracefully filling the potion bottle.

"I can get you some food if you want."Zack said as he had a sympathetic expression on his face.

''P-please!'' The teen said, with excitement. ''T-thank you so much,'' Hendrina turned to Zack about to speak until the blue and green haired girl spoke once more. ''Can she stay with me? I'm always scared of being out here, since guards are all over this place,'' the child said, gazing at Zack. Hendrina's gaze turned to Zack, quirking an eyebrow in confusion and suspicion about the young girl.

Zack frowned deeply as he went silent,thinking."I don't know about that..."He muttered,a hesitant look on his face.

''T-Then can I come with you?'' She questioned, glancing back into the woods. Her brows furrowed in disappointment, in fear and shock. Hendrina bit her bottom lip, wanting to help the civilian but, unwilling to trust such a child despite, the age and helplessness. Though, if the civil war wasn't active, Hendrina would have helped without a blink of an eye. ''I-I don't know about this Zack,'' Hendrina informed him, her hand grasping his in fear of the unknown.

Zack held her close"I don't either but I won't allow you to be harmed."He said softly.
