Owen looked like he was about to cry and said "How could this be happening? You can't die." He grabbed Tenne's hand and said "There has to be a way to fix this. I don't want to lose you."

"No, Owen.. please, there's no way. I've tried to find a cure. This curse cannot be lifted." Tenne said softly, trying to comfort his friend, rubbing Owen's leg with his spare hand. "Don't cry. Fate is fate. You have friends so much better than me, you have a life worth living." The smaller male's grey gaze was soft and tinted with sadness. He'd lost many friends, but parting in a way as so ached his fragile heart.

Owen sniffed and said "Okay. I guess the best thing to do is be there for you in your final days." He hugged Tenne again and said "I'll stay here for you."

"Thank you so much.. I'll need you here." He held onto his friend, swaying back and forth. "I hate for you to have to find out about this, or for this to end in such a way anyways. I'll miss you, but I've got three weeks, so.." He sighed, Tenne continuing to rock and sway with Owen in his firm hug.

Owen continued to hug Tenne, still wishing there was just someway to save his friend. For now, he just had to grin and bear it for Tenne's sake.

He sighed. "We'll make the most of it, alright? Three weeks can be a long time." A calming smile spread onto Tenne's face, hugging back as he fell into silence after a heave of his chest and a puff of air, sighing.

Owen said "Right." He let go and said "Is there anything I can do to make you comfortable?"

"No, not really. I suppose I'm fine as is-" He coughed, looking away. "Just as long as you can be here with me. I want to have my best friend at my side." Tenne winced, raising his shoulders. "I don't want to die, but I guess everything happens for a reason, right?" He let out a fake laugh.

Owen said "I'll be here till the end."

The next night when Owen had fallen asleep, he had a strange dream- about Tenne. Some kind of prophecy, almost. About a book. In a library, looking abandoned with books coated in dust. There was one book sat on the floor and in an old script, it read: "HEXES and CURSES". -
Owen took the book home and carefully studied it to learn about Tenne's curse. He quickly learned that there was an item to reverse the curse found in an Ancient Greek city that in undiscovered. He ran to Tenne's home to tell him.

Tenne was wrapped up in a blanket in bed, coughing and pale as if he were sick. 20 days left, and he was already getting worse. He curled up and turned to face his door, shivering.

Owen burst in and said "Tenne, I know how to fix you. I found a cure."
