we can do one where there is already a couple and they are doing well but one of them has a mental illness (dissociative personality disorder or schizo-affective/schizophrenia would probably be suitable) that causes them to begin to abuse their partner. eventually, they decide to kidnap them and go far away, beginning to hurt them and such. so the innocent partner has got to try to escape, but that's hard become the I'll one is hella smart
or I can steal a plot from this Wattpad book but tweak it
C1 is like, infatuated with C2, who is relatively popular. They become close friends, but C1 is jealous AF. So they decide to kill off anyone who may be a threat to the relationshop between C1 and C2. He starts to become suspected, so he kidnaps the C2 and takes him off. But then like C2 could develop Stockholm syndrome and still love C1 and will do anything, and so even he becomes willing to kill
