Thread Topic: [Steven Universe] The "Quartz Gems"

The Crystal Gems save people in Beach City, Delmarva. However, across the world on the West Coast of the United States lies the base of the Quartz Gems. These gems save the people from Chorrift City, Pruicor (real world California) and help rebel against Homeworld in hopes that the Earth will be saved.
Rules:
-Please do not create a gary stu/mary sue! While the gems are powerful beings, they aren't gods, and there can always be a fusion stronger than your own.
-Do not kill/"break" someone else's gem without permission. (You have my permission for my own characters, but it's always nice to ask!)
-Join ONLY if you plan to stick around! I'm often offline, so I know what it's like to not be able to respond a lot, but if you're going to join for a few responses and then drop out, that's no fun for your other partners.
-Make as many characters as you can HANDLE!
-No canon characters.
-Please ask to join before posting your character.

If you want to make a gem but don't have anything in mind, you can use this site to find some gemstones. They're sorted by color. I don't mind if you use a show-based gem, such as "Ruby", but it's always fun to make a gemsona with a gem not touched upon by the show!
Also, this doll maker is REALLY helpful to give people an idea of what your gem looks like! It even has the specific names of the gems you get when you pick a specific color listed, so you can use the "random" button if you don't want to think of a gem for yourself.

Personality: Calm, motherly, and gentle. Approaches things with caution. Doesn't understand humans, but wants to protect them anyway. Also tries really hard to make jokes.
History: Angel was sent to Earth in order to watch over the making of a machine in the Pacific Ocean. However, she realized that a lot of the aquatic life there was in danger, and humans were interested in the machine- which was heavily protected. After witnessing the murder of an innocent child, she turned against Homeworld, and ended up destroying the half complete product. She fled to the shore, where she met Obsidian. Obsidian, who fell for her ideals, worked with her to make a base and look for recruits for a rebellion.

Personality: Cold, rude, bashful. Runs into battle without a care in the world. Doesn't really care about Earth life, but doesn't mind protecting its beauty. Loves having power.
History: Obsidian was kicked out of Homeworld for being so insane. They sent them down to Earth, knowing that the planet was a target for destruction. They knew very well that if they were to try to return, they would be destroyed, or used as a part of their gem shard experiments. With no where to go, they decided to live where they had ended up. Hundreds of years later, a project was started- a tower, close to the coastline where they lived. They watched over it closely, and one of the leaders- Angel- had caught their eye. Intrigued, they kept a close watch on the project, hopeful that perhaps Angel would stay on Earth. However, the project was destroyed- and Angel had been the cause. Amazed by her power, Obsidian rushed to her aid, and was instantly obsessed. They forgot about their hatred for the Earth and tried to follow her ideals, helping them form the Quarts group.

I wanna join but I gotta ask. Do you need to have a working knowledge of Steven Universe to join? Because I know a few things about the characters but not a lot about the show.

Nah, it's cool if you don't know a lot about it. I mean, I haven't even caught up to the current season, so there's a lot about the show that even I don't know. It's definitely not canon, either, so you can join with whatever amount of knowledge you have.

Yo Lyle would love to join I'll find some gems later but would a gem who has manipulation over aspects of sleep ( Dreams nightmare Ect?) be too much? It's just I have a gem stone that I have to help me have easier sleep and I'd like to give it a character XD

Powers: Tourmaline is able to induce emotions , generally negative emotions such as fear and anxiety but that's only because it's what she naturally drains from others, she can ran out of these emotions and then she resorts to her weapon
Weapon: a nine ribboned whip with a concealed dagger at the end.
Personality: She's a very flirty gem, willing to take on a male and female form to intrest her current target, however she isn't one to cheat and sticks with her partener for as long as she can, but if her emotion draining gets to her partner then she breaks up with them, she prefers to stay with stoic gems who can take her parasitic aura full force
