brightfire Newbielori stared at it before she threw herself at her grandmother. "thanks, gran!" she mused happily before sitting down and readying a game of chess, her grandma's favorite game. "Care to play?"

"Of course!" Cheered Grandma. After their game of chess, they returned home. Lindsay was singing to her new MP3 Player's songs while chewing her bubble gum loudly.

brightfire Newbielori was fast asleep, splayed on the small little couch in her room. she had managed to scrap enough money for a old, small tv and a video game. she snored while the tv blared static.

Uncle Albert turned off the tv, decided to sell it in the morning and by Lori one that had actual tv, and carried Lori to her bed so she could sleep. He took the tv out and put it in his truck, then left a sign explaining his idea.

brightfire Newbielori slurred as she awoke, looking at the sign and confused as she groggily re-read it. she shrugged and fell asleep. only to wake up screaming in fury by the fact that, even though he was getting her a better one, he had sold the tv she had earned!

"WHAT'S GOING ON!?!" Her mother asked, scared by her daughter's screaming.

Her mother rubbed her sore eyes. "Honey... You didn't need to earn your tv! Uncle Albert was going to buy you one anyways. And... Why are you changing subjects from tv to cats? No, we aren't getting a cat. A dog maybe, but not a cat." She sighed.

brightfire Newbie"but i wasted by hard earned work money on it then.." she pouted. she seemed especially angered by the fact her mother refused a cat. "what about mittens?" she demanded, referring to the tuxedo tom they had raise, eventually dying naturally. "We had him!"

"He was your father's cat..." Mom replied. Their father died from Hurricane Sandy when on a business trip. They hadn't had a cat since.

brightfire Newbielori frowned and turned away, facing the wall as she zoned out her mother and drew mittens, and a few other cats- her hobby. she wanted to get another cat to honor dad, yet her mother seemed to resent the idea.

"I was thinking of getting a dog, to help Lindsay." Her mother added. Lindsay had a condition that was slowly turning her blind. It wouldn't harm her much otherwise, but a guide dog would be a very good idea. That was why Lindsay fell often during Ballet. "What do you think of that?"

lori muttered something like, "theres guard CATS." of course, cats were more vicious to people intent with harm, and warm and cozy!
(i love dogs but i lean more to cats..

(Not gaurd dog. Guide Dog. Dogs can be used to guide a human perfectly when they're blind. There are many dogs trained for that! But, no cats are. A cat is much too small, and can't be trained like that.)

i know, i was talking about the cat protecting the blind person..
im sorry if i sound stupid right now im sleep deprived and remembered people have PONIES as guide animals so i tried it out.)
