  Yellowlily sighed with relief. "Thanks." She twitched her ears. "Your patrols coming. See you st the gathering?" She mewed before churning across the river and darting off, mainly embarrassed.

  Brightsky watched her leave before following his patrol. "See you at the gathering..." He felt his pelt get warm.

  Brightsky saw RiverClan enter the clearing and sniffed full heartedly, searching for yellowlily.

  Yellowlily flicked her gray striped tail in the air to wave him over. "Hello!" She meowed, obviously more cheerful.

  yellowlily whispered something. "oatstar's mad at willowstar for trying to fish in our river." she explained, referring to her leader oatstar, a tan and pale tabby, and willowstar, a silver thunderclan leader.

  Brightsky nodded. "Hawkstar still can't get over the WindClan scent on our territory. More than half the Clan is ready to claw their face off." Even now, Hawkstar was growling lowly at Cloudstar, and ShadowClan was well away from WindClan, menacing looks going between them.

  Brightsky smiled and chatted until he realized the Gathering was coming to an end. "Well, I'll, uh, see you around?" he said semi-awkwardly.

  Yellowlily nodded and trodded off. She suddenly stopped and turned her head. ",meet you by the river again?" She mewed.

  "S-sure-" he starts before being cut off by one of his classmates. "Let's go," she snarls. "Why are you even talking to that horrible RiverClan scum?" She leads him away and he steals a glance backwards before walking off.
