SO BASICALLY
Aeration was cut off from it's neighboring realms. (Dark's world, yours, ect.) No one could get in or out.. Think of Narnia when you consider this next concept- Time spun forward hundreds of years. Aeration changed and advanced along a normally time line, but when the wards went down and other people from other realms could get in, EVERYTHING had changed.
The first big thing was that Angel had one last child with Grey- Roseal Smith. He was a very kind young man, but he had.. Unconscious periods, in which his Hunter side would consume him and make him.. Well, hunt. He HATED it. So much that he attempted to purify himself by having his soul split into two halves- The Hunter and the Smith. And then he killed the Hunter side, which pissed the Angelic Council off. According to them, no man was aloud to change his nature so brutally. Soo.. They punished him by resurrecting his Hunter side, but they made a few changes.
The Hunter half was made completely human! And sent off to live in a village away from the capital. The Smith half.. Was cursed. That's what the species Roseal became is called- Cursed. They're sort of vampires, although they still have wings, and a few.. Quirks.
One, they can't survive in warm weather. The castle is kept constantly cold. Direct sunlight burns them, so they only go outside at night or during the day with parasols. (If it's cold, anyways.)
Two, when they turn sixteen, they start hunting. Although they still eat normal food, they have to completely drain someone once every week. Animals don't work, and if they don't complete a feeding, the pain is horrible. If they attempt not to feed, they'll go into a rage in which anyone around them is in danger.
Three, when they turn sixteen, a small ceremony is held to sort them into the three classes of Cursed. The birthday boy/girl holds a special ceremonial glass, that presents a flame which signals which class they are. Red for Alpha, Green for Beta, Blue for Omega. This is decided partly on their heritage and partly on their personalities.
-Alphas tend to be natural leaders. Most first borns are Alphas, especially if they were raised to rule/fight. When they feed, they experience a high produced. Their brain doesn't process what they're doing, and they're sort of.. Giddy and light for a period of time afterwards. Alphas, if experiencing an extremely strong emotion, can (unknowingly or not) influence other Curseds to feel the same way. They're also natural decision makers.
-Betas are sort of peace keepers. They're normally mellow, friendly and pretty easy going. They're the most common class. Betas also experience a high when feeding, although it doesn't last as long. Many of them have a knack for communicating with other species. They're good at talking and convincing other people to want/do certain things.
-Omegas are the rarest class. Most people consider this to be the worst one, because unlike the other two classes.. Omegas don't experience highs while feeding. They're aware of what they're doing the whole time, as well as what they've done afterwards. However, Omegas can form bonds with other people (Cursed or not). One romantic bond and one platonic, both equally powerful.(If two Omegas were to share a bond of any type, it would be a bit mord powerful though) Their 'highs' come from extended periods of contact with their romantic bonds. If either a platonic bond or romantic bond leaves them, though, the Omega will feel physical pain and be pretty dejected for a very long time. They don't have a choice who they bond with, so this can get rough. However, Omegas are HIGHLY intelligent and can read people like open books.
Four, aside from that curse.. There's a few more. The first person they marry dies on the sunrise of their first day as newly weds. Because they're royalty, their first weddings have to be ones of importance even though they're over quickly. It sucks. There also used to be a curse where only the first born could have children, but due to a certain member of the Angelic Council, that was lifted two generations ago!
Anyways, back to history.
Roseal was an Omega, btw.
Taylor, to try and assist his poor nephew, had a new castle built and hired a.. Shady sort of man. Or, rather opposite of shady.
His name, at the time, was Light. Think of him as Shadow's equivalent but ONLY in Aeration. He focused his powers on the new castle and created a home that the Curseds could live in. Regardless of the temperature outside, it stays nice and chilly! He produces the light, and also regulates the amount of magic that everyone in the castle uses. To avoid pissing the Angelic Council off, they don't use any major magic. Teleporting and opening portals, yes. But no resurrection, and unless an injury/illness is lift threatening, they heal normally.
However, most do have a special type of magic. (Fire control, summoning memories, ect.) But they're still careful about using it.
Roseal's son, Emest, was very important to Light. When he died, Light took his name.
Years pass.
Meanwhile, the Hunters have mingled with sorcerers and now have a bit of magic themselves. They're ANGRY. They should have been the side to take over the kingdom! The Smith's can only govern their people from inside the castle because of the Curses, and Aeration(Now Parallel) is having some MAJOR issues.
The Hunters think of themselves as White Knights. They're not looking to kill the Smiths.. They just want someone who can actually take care of the people to be in charge! (AKA, them!)
Sometimes, their efforts get a little out of hand.. But mostly, they really are just trying to do good. They don't kill unless they must. (Mostly because resurrection is impossible lol)
Oh, and Angel!
He's an actual Angel. Former member of the Angelic Council but he was cast out of heaven for being a HUGE a--hole. Now he terrorizes Parallel. Most folk consider him a scary bedtime story but he is VERY real. However, unless you talk to him or touch him, he can't touch you. But if you do..
You're pretty much in for a slow, painful death.
CURRENT DAY
Emest is still around. He's seen a LOOOT of stuff.
Nealon is the king, as his father only recently died. He's a Alpha!
Ivonne is the oldest daughter, she's also an Alpha. She's got a good head on her shoulders but she loves her siblings.
Aster is a Beta (He's angry, wanted to be an Alpha.) He's the only one of this generation to enjoy hunting..) He's pretty much a smartass. Doesn't like being told what to do..
Aurore is the youngest girl, another Beta. She loves everyone tbh. Is friends with a couple sirens. Really sweet!
Irven is the youngest, only recently having turned sixteen. He's an Omega and he HATES it. He's hated being a Cursed since he learned what they were. He hates killing and violence in general.
He had a platonic bond with his childhood friend, Marceau, but it was broken when Marc went to join the Hunters. He acts cold towards people because of the left over agony of this. It was really hard on him.
Vale is Nealon and the other's uncle. An Omega, divorced from an arranged marriage. He loves his kids. Has a platonic bond with the head of the royal guard, Corlis. She is his closest friend.
Anois is Vale's oldest son, an Alpha. He gets into fights a lot and also gets hurt a lot. But he has a SUPER high pain tolerance.
November is Vale's oldest daughter, yet another Alpha. She's pretty collected, training to join the royal guard despite her father's protests. (They're very traditional. Girls aren't normally aloud to fight.)
Alexei is his second daughter, a Beta. She has pet bats and is a lil creepy..
Bane is his 12yo son. Will prolly present as Beta.
Aiello is Vale's younger brother, a Beta. His ex-wife left him for a Hunter..
Patterson is Aiello's oldest son. Completely nocturnal, an Omega.
Oathel (Oath) is his second son, a Beta. Also nocturn -

Promise legit turned sixteen about a week ago. Omega.. When he presented, he was crushed. Everyone saw what happened when Irven's bond left, so Promise's boyfriend said he couldn't be with him if he presented as Omega.
