Lisa looked up at the huge skyscrapers as her bus drove her to school. It has been a week since she had moved to New York from Ottawa. Things looked so different here. She wondered what her new school would be like as the bus pulled in and she got off. The tall grey building was different from the schools in Canada... She picked up her maple leaf backpack, and began walking up to the school.

Lisa's best friend, Sarah, missed Lisa. She felt lost. It felt like the walls were closing in on her, bit by bit. Jack knew how she felt, but he had no idea how to help her.

Lisa knew that she would have one friend though. She had a family friend named Sarah who was also at this school! So she decided it shouldn't be too bad here! Just then, she saw Sarah and her boyfriend get out of Jack's car. "Hi!" She called to Sarah.

"Good!" Lisa smiled. "I see that you've gotten a Boyfriend since we last met? Cool!"

"Yeah! This is Jack. We met when i was in 5th grade. I moved here, and he didnt tell me he moved here and we began our relationship! Hey, wanna go outside?'

"Sure!" Lisa agreed. When they got out, Lisa looked around. The fashion sense here was a lot different than Canada. She sensed that she shouldn't have let her Dad give her a Maple Leaf backpack. Here, plain solid color backpacks were the norm. And black clothing unlike the colors Canadians wore. "How do you guys handle the heat with the style of dark clothing?" She asked Sarah.
