The joke XD
Yes please -
Atticus shifted around in his seat, staring at the clock above the teacher's head. The class would be over soon, and it was the last one of the day. At the front, his teacher was finishing the lesson. He slid his pencil into his binder cover, leaning back into the chair. Several times he had been asked if he wanted to go onto a better class meant for his type of thinking, but he had rejected all of the offers. He preferred having an easy life.
-
Asteo sighed mentality as he stared at the clock, paying very little attention to what the teacher was doing as he waited for class to be over 'i wonder if I'll have time to go to the park...' he thought to himself
-
(I'm so sorry about the wait for my response.. ;;)
As the teacher started to set his book down, the bell rang. A few students stood up, but most waited patiently for him to explain the homework. As Atticus stood from his seat, he heard the teacher call for him and another student by the name of 'Asteo.' Frowning, the boy walked to the front of the class, confused as to why he was being called up. -
It's ok)
Asteo grabbed his bag as the Bell rang and then he blinked when he heard his name being called. He sighed in annoyance and he walked over to the teacher -
The teacher glanced up at them as she started to put her book away. Smiling to them, she looked at Atticus, placing her hand on the desk. Leaning to the side, she said, "I'm aware that you both are wondering why you are here. I'm aware you are struggling in the class, Asteo. And you, Atticus, are doing extremely well.. I want you both to work together."
"Isn't it your job to teach him? I'm not trying to be rude, but.. Why me?" Atticus asked her. He didn't like the sound of this one but. "You can easily hold him after school." -
Asteo frowned and crossed his arms "let me guess.you don't want to deal with Mr so you shoving me on to someone else to be there problem
-
"It's not that at all! Tsk, boys, you aren't getting the point." She narrowed her eyes at them. "You both are also the most antisocial butterflies in the class. Atticus, you familiarize yourself with students only on your 'level'. That's not very many people. And the same for you, Asteo. It will be a change for both of you." Atticus glanced over at Asteo. He felt a sort of excitement bubbling in his stomach. It would be a change. Plus it would be nice for him- he wanted to be a teacher. But this wasn't completely fair to him.
"Since I technically am doing your job, what do I get out of this?" He asked.
"I'll give you volunteer hours," she offered. "Or extra credit for the class. Don't worry, your work will not go unpaid for. It's important you get more friends.. And the experience." The teacher looked to Asteo. "Please give Atticus a chance, Asteo." -
Asteo snorted "the reason I don't have friends is because I don't want any." He said, glaring at the teacher. He rolled his eyes "why the hell should I give him a chance" he said, casting a glance at Atticus
-
"Well, you need them." She pointed to the two of them, pushing up her glasses. "I don't want any more arguments. Starting today, Atticus, you will be helping Asteo with his work. If I don't see improvements within a week, I'll call this off. Please, boys, try. If not for yourselves, for me."
Atticus looked over to his new 'partner', scanning him. He looked like the average dropout. His academic level was far superior. But.. Something about being around someone like that excited him. He sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "Alright, I'll do it. For you, though. Not myself." He held out his hand to Asteo. "Nice to meet you, I guess." -
He rolled his eyes "I do not" he said before frowning "why the hell would I do something for you" he snapped before he looked at Atticus "same" he said after a moment but he made no move to shake his hand
-
The teacher nearly jumped at Asteo's outburst, yet she said nothing. She looked down to her work, sitting in her chair and starting to write down her agreement with the two males.
Atticus pulled his hand away, letting it fall to his side. It was apparent that Asteo wanted nothing to do with him. Atticus's attempt at being nice apparently wouldn't help their relationship any. "Well, shall we leave this class?" -
Asteo huffed softly at her and then he nodded to Arricus "yeah, I don't see any reason to stay" he said
-
"I agree," Atticus said as he picked up his belongings for the second time that afternoon. "Thank you for your time, Mrs. Love." With those words, the teenager hurried to the door, opening it for Asteo. He wondered if the other boy would cooperate and go along with the teacher's wishes or not.

Asteo sighed and he picked up his bag before he walked out of the room, nodding to Atticus in thanks
