Thread Topic: Roleplay?

I'm bored and I want to roleplay.
Pls run judg -
Pls dun judg*
-
Am I suitable?
-
Sure. I think you're reasonably versed in the ancient ways of roleplaying. Do you want this to be a 1x1 or public?
-
1x1 please
-
Fin.
What genre? I prefer action, adventure and the sorts. I can do romance and horror too, but only as a subgenre. I can't do comedy. I don't think. -
Hm, I can do just about any genre. I like fantasy, action, adventure, and romance.
-
Might as well incorporate all four. However if we do romance, it has to be mxf as I'm playing a straight male (no homophobia dun hate pls).
As far as fantasy goes, do you want it to be like medieval DND-like, or steampunk wizardry, or like... Actually, I have something in mind. I'll tap that s--- up. -
It's fine. I myself prefer doing MxF anyways.
Alright -
Alexandria, Enimortus - 2345 PT (Post-Thaw)
How should I describe Alexandria? It's an odd city. Although, there should be at least one or more things prominent enough to catch my attention. Hmm, perhaps I should try and elaborate on Enimortus itself, maybe I'll latch onto some detail and make my way through.
You might not know what Enimortus is. After all, there are still some frozen in this sort of cosmic cryogenesis. Enimortus is what many call "the world beyond what once was". Enimortus was formed after the Cosmic Freeze dissipated. I'll explain what Cosmic Freeze is later on.
Enimortus is one of the most major settlements scattered across the land of Arcania, our half of the world. Enimortus is what I'd like to call a falling angel. Before my time, my ancestors described a sprawling metropolis in which was ruled by a dynasty that kept a firm grim uponvits denizens, sprawling across the land thousands of miles over.
By now it's been reduced to half that size. At the core of Enimortus still lies a wealthy, pompous spire of economic immorality and glorified aristocrats, referred to as Crucible. Beyond that is the kind of place you wouldn't let your kids roam around in alone. The city guards and magi do a decent job of keeping bandits off the street, but corruption isn't unfathomable and whatever lies beyond the guard's sight is an anything goes region. People call this Decenteria, or Descenteria. Who cares.
Then you have the Outreach. People call this place the Outreach because it is out of reach of the guard. This is where I live. It's not the poorest region, by most measures. It's simply unruly. The emperors and rulers of Enimortus have nearly no heed in this area, and it is run by a powerful criminal organization referred to as the 'Arcanus' for their magical prowess.
There are other cities and settlements across the land of Arcania, but I care for them little and I know much of them not. I think now would be a good time to cover the two 'realms', Arcania and Wildrus.
They aren't actually realms. They're two halves of the same planet, though vastly different and far apart. Or they used to be.
Arcania is the land of magic (magick, magik, magicka, whatever you fancy). Not exactly magic, although the way physics function here and how technology has progressed it's sufficient to refer it as magic. Most people whom have actually been to or seen Wildrus claim Arcania to be the more advanced and sophisticated of the two, by far. Whereas we have magic, engineering, kingdoms and art, they have brutality, sorcery, tribes and cave-drawings.
Wildrus is the land of the wild, to put it short. Forestry is scarce and nearly depleted in Arcania save for in certain instances of captivity. In Wildrus, the land is entirely dominated by the wild, save for the Grand Sands desert marking the flat side of their half. The people in Wildrus -- the Wildren -- are cunning, ferocious, strong and physically superior to the people of Arcania -- the Arcanians.
For the past two millennia Wildrus and Arcania have remained hundreds of thousands of miles apart, although that distance has been rapidly closing in.
Now you might be wondering. How the f--- are there two halves of a single planet? The Cosmic Freeze.
Nobody knows exactly what the Cosmic Freeze is except that it halted almost all material on our planet (called 'Gaeiya' when referring to Wildrus and Arcania as one) for an indefinite amount of time, which meant the entire planet was at almost absolute zero the whole time.
During this time, things began to change, or at least according to the texts our scholars have dug up, things weren't always this way. The very fundamental laws of physics began to undergo a subtle change, and the two halves of Gaeyia quickly drifted apart from each other. And since the thousands of years Wildrus and Arcania have been whole, either individual half has become radically different.
And now they're about to crash into each other. Already Wildrus takes up nearly half of the visible atmosphere, and our best astronomers give us a year before Gaeiya is made whole again. Who knows what'll happen to society when the reunion is made. It's liked an alien species making a forceful residency on your previously unmolested homeland.
Nobody knows. But we'll find out soon enough.
(Best I could come up with in an hour. Do you want me to continue on to making the characters and character sheets? -
Okay, that's a bit confusing. I have a vague idea of what it's about. So basically there's two sides of the planet that are completely different and there's some cosmic freeze that has to do with the temperature? And the conflict would arise from the two halves meeting?
Could you simplify it? -
Or possibly add more detail?
-
What you have is correct.
Essentially, I'll explain the species, lands and both halves during character sheets and a sort-of bulleted list describing each possible character type and homeland.
Arcania is home to an essentially barren land of mages, knight-mages, sorcerers, battlemagi, etc.. Wildrus is a heavily forested half-planet that is home to more primitive type whom can be spectacularly agile, strong, hardy, etc.. I'll go more in-depth with them soon.
The two halves are colliding soon. Our roleplay will start a year or so (we'll fast-forward) before the collision, to build up character and plot.
Do you have any other questions? -
No, I got it now.
-
Alright. I'll start typing up the characters and stuff.
