  Birdsong licked his ear. Burntwood immediately flinched. "Isnt the gathering almost over?" he growled in jealousy but then realized birdsong couldnt even have mate since it was against the warrior code

  Brightmoon piped up. "I thought I picked up her scent a few minutes ago. It was covered with fear scent. I wasn't sure that it was her, so I shrugged it off. We could try to follow that." "Anycat who wishes to follow can came with me. Brightmoon, you lead the way." Shadowstar yelled. Soon, most of WaterClan and NightClan were behind her.

  Brightmoon lead them down the scent trail all the way to Thunderpath. Brightmoon looked up. "Here is where it ends. The fear-scent becomes very strong, and then stops at Thunderpath." A few of the cats wailed out in dismay.
