The next words that came out of Vince's mouth noticeably rocked Neddy, and he leaned into his husband's touch as he tried to think of a reasonable way to respond. "And my country?" The blonde had asked, putting a sure amount of concern into his voice that broke Neddy's heart- Unlike his uncle or even his own father, Vince clearly had it in him to be a king. He couldn't help but wonder if the years away from the pampering of the court had hardened him enough that he wouldn't become so broken like all the kings before him. Neddy's own father became cruel, he himself almost broke under the pressure, and his brother had lost his mind, all because of the weight of the crown.
"She lives," He finally worked out, licking his lips numbly. "The nobles have been.. Ruling. Poorly. We manage things every now and then, but she is still yours to claim. Leo despises the idea of the crown, so I think you have a clean shot at it." The wavering of the screen couldn't hide how Vince shut his eyes tight, trying not to break down. The young blonde turned to Malakai, giving him a brief smile. "We're actually going home, Mala. Truly.." He turned back to the screen, giving a quick glance back at Avalon. She seemed to be in pain, and Neddy didn't look much better. "We'll be home in time for Rosario's wedding.. We'll send you a letter under Avalon's name, but I think it's best if you keep our return secret. Tell Lawrence and our families, but I would advise you not to inform anyone else. Um.. Avalon, anything for your parents?" He paused for a beat, listening to the girl's harsh whisper. "She said to give them her love, and.. Tell her father that she would like him to be the one to escort us back to the castle when we reach the bay.." Vince trailed off, looking at Mala expectantly. He knew the boy never had a lot to say, but he wanted to give him time to say anything really important.
"I think that might.. Be good for us," Alicia agreed, looking up at him finally. Her mouth was dry, and so were her eyes. "We should do that. As soon as she gets back, after Ro's wedding. It would be a golden opportunity, really. And I'm sure my brother wouldn't mind letting us go for a few weeks." She paused, picking up her sword as she stood. "I know I should have already told you this, I expect that you'll hear it soon enough, anyways. I turned in my resignation, and I'm waiting to hear back from Neddy or Henry about if I.. If I can leave my post." Her cheeks flushed as she put the sword back in it's sheath, hooking it around her waist again. "I was going to leave you. And take the kids with me. If things didn't change, that is. I just.. It feels like you've grown so distant, Fynn. Perhaps a trip will fix that. I'm not sure. I just know that it.. That it feels like you don't have any love for me any more. That you're only putting up with me because you feel like you have to."
Elias smiled at him, glad to have reassured the younger of his love. He hooked an arm under his knees, and another behind his shoulders, lifting the light boy into the air. Without a warning, he threw him over his shoulder, freeing an arm to scoop up papers and maps, stuffing them into his bag. "Well. Let's get up to our room, hm? I want a nap. And a bath. Let's spoil ourselves a bit and order hot water service, hm?" -
Henry looked to his lover when Vince asked about his home, his hopes reflecting Neddy's. Maybe the young boy would have what it takes to survive ruling over their home, especially with Malakai ruling at the same time. Their 'foreign' relationship made their kingdoms close allies from that point on. The blonde couldn't help smiling at the boys, listening to the conversation Neddy and Vince shared, though he watched his own heir. He seemed as if he had something to say in all of this, but it was either being forced back or he couldn't force it out.
Malakai nodded at the other, smiling warmly at him. Though at the mention of his sister's wedding, he took a moment to speak once more. "We'll likely leave tomorrow, after Ava and her uncles have rested. And I expect a meeting with my future 'brother-in-law'. Since I'll be king in a few years, I'll need to know who I'm dealing with, and I want to judge him for myself on whether or not he's good enough for my sister. I'm glad, though, that we got to talk to you and see you again. But we need to go so Ava, and you, Papa, can rest. I know how exhausting channeling like this can be. I love both of you, and I'll see you soon."
"The perfect time. Let her have the attention, then we'll go." Fynn felt as if his heart and spirits were beginning to lift for the first time in years. Alicia was listening to him for once, and even doing what he'd wanted her to from the start. He didn't care if she liked knowing how to fight, but both of them working the same job at the same time was difficult. Unfortunately, his happiness was short-lived when his wife mentioned leaving him alone. Anger flashed in his eyes as he glared at her, a look of disgust coming over him. "Are you serious?! You're trying to turn everything on me like it's my fault? Who's the one that's actually been trying for this family? It's obviously not you! You've run away from every responsibility you've ever had, treated us with the distant attitude that you're claiming I give you. I'd like to see you try to go anywhere with those boys. I do love you, Alicia, more than anything, but when it comes to trust, that's where I waver. You can hardly care for yourself, let alone take care of them without me! But if that's how you see it, fine. We clearly don't need to go anywhere at all. And seeing as I'm not good enough for you, then leave, on your own. Lay a hand on those boys and you will hear from your daughter. That's a promise.." With that, the knight growled and slammed their bedroom door closed on his way out, immediately heading for the nursery to get James and Cian. He needed to be away from her, for once, and sought to hopefully get help from Neddy. Though his hopes weren't very high.
Leith giggled as he was picked and was reaching around the other's neck before he was placed over a shoulder instead. A blush tinted his cheeks as he rested his chin in one hand. "Haah~ You want everyone to look at my bum in these trousers? Hot water and hot food service. I'm hungry~." The younger cooed at his husband, reaching down to pat his buttocks. -
"I love you too, Mala.. So much. And you, Vince." Neddy let Henry say his goodbyes, and closed the window, turning to stare at his lover with wide eyes. There was a moment of silence before he threw himself at Henry, wrapping him tightly in a hug. A sob escaped him before he could help it, but whatever he was going to say was cut off when a guard bust into the doors, breaking the lock. The king-consort was about to scold him, but the young man began talking before he could. "It's Rosaria, my lord. There was an accident in the kitchen, and she.. She's in the hospital wings, sir.. The medic told me to get the both of you." Neddy swallowed hard against the fear climbing in his throat. He detangled himself from Henry, standing. "..Was her fiancee with her?" A pause. "Yes, he was, my lord." He turned and gave a look to Henry, heading for the doors and the hospital wing.
Avalon fell back as soon as the window disappeared, breathing hard. The moment of joy vanished from Vince's face. He grabbed one of Avalon's wrist, taking her pulse with slightly shaking fingers. After assuring himself that she had only passed out, he looked back to Malakai. "Let's get her into bed, then? And then I want to take a hot bath.. With you. And buy clothes that aren't made from feedsacks. Oh, Mala.. We're going to be princes again.."He pulled the smaller boy into his chest, pressing a kiss to his temple. Vince wasn't very physically affectionate in a lot of ways, but he was too happy to care as he combed his fingers through the dark locks. "When we get home," He mused, "I'm going to have them cook us a fine four-course meal. And we're going to eat it together, you and I. And then we're going to sleep in a feather bed, with pillows and blankets that don't smell like smoke and sex, and we'll be able to breathe without worrying about having enough money to buy food.." He trailed, nuzzling his nose into his neck.
James had, really had, tried to be good. But within ten minutes, he'd already scared the poor maid off. She didn't bother sending anyone to fetch his parents, which was fine with him. He could look after Cian himself, anyways. The littler boy wasn't slow, like a lot of people thought he was. For a boy of five he was just remarkably fragile and small. He bruised easy, and his skin burnt if he was in direct sun for too long. When Cian had been born, James thought hewas just a very fancy baby doll. In ways,he still treated his brother like he was a preprecious toy that would break if handled too roughly. He was Cian's only friend, and most dedicated protector. He had a secret language with his brother, and he knew exactly what Cian wanted and needed, all the time. But there was something else- Cian was special. He heard things, saw things that weren't really there. At least, if they were, James couldn't see them. And whatever they were, whenever Cian saw them, he'd go into some sort of panic, rocking and crying until James or someone came and held him. Right now, though, Cian was having one of those episodes- But James couldn't calm him down.
"Mm, of course~ It would be down right cruel of me not to at least give them a little view," Elias laughed as he carried Leith up the stairs and to the rooms they had rented. He dropped his lover on the bed, and before he could protest, crawled on top of him to kiss him and nuzzle his neck. "I wonder, " He mused, grinning, "How long it's been since those boys have had enough money for a hot bath.. Tsk. I know I lived like this, so isolated, once... But I don't see how they coulddo it." -
Henry waved the boys off before Neddy closed the window and sighed with content before he was glomped by his lover. He smiled and rubbed his back, hugging him close to comfort him. "Ssh ssh.. Our boys are coming home." Though their moment was ruined when a guard broke through the door, the king inhaling sharply before pinching the bridge of his nose. He would have to make it clear to his knights that they should knock instead of breaking the doors. His anger was quickly replaced with fear as he followed Neddy out of the room, taking his hand to calm him down. "Comfort Rose. I'll deal with Jacian. If you do anything rash, it could cause a disturbance or tension between nations. We don't need another war."
"..I can't wait to go home." Malakai smiled at his lover, snuggling up to him and hugging around him. Vince was rarely affectionate like this, even when they were alone, and it warmed his heart when they were. Seeing Avalon again, his parents, it seemed to put the blonde in the best mood since they were kids. "What room was she in again? We kind of left her uncles behind.. And I'd like to keep our privacy." The brunette cooed and shifted to kiss the other's lips, excited about getting splurge on themselves before leaving for their homeland the next morning. Maybe this would be the chance to get to be intimate with the other. Malakai missed his parents in every way, but there was one thing he wished they were around for: to ask them about how to be close with Vince, meaning, of course, he wanted to bed the other. But he refrained and didn't push it on him because he understood how nervous the other was about anything having to do with it. "...Would sex be an okay smell if it was between us?" He murmured, quiet enough so Avalon wouldn't hear if she was even somewhat awake.
Fynn sighed when he walked in to see his boys alone again and shook his head. "What happened this.. Cian? Cian, what's wrong?" He became worried when he noticed the youngest child was in some form of distress and hurried over to join them. The knight carefully brought his son into his arms, treating him as if he were made of glass, and gently ran his fingers through Cian's hair. "Tell me what's going on, James. What happened?" Of all the things his boys got into, of all the things that happened, Fynn had never experienced one of Cian's episodes and he doubted Alicia had either.
"So you're whoring me now? You big bully!" He squealed into another giggle as he was carried upstairs to their room. The air was knocked out of him when he was dropped on the bed, his arms wrapping around his husband during the short-lived kiss. Leith rested his chin on top of Elias's head, reaching up to stroke his hair. "I bet they've always had the money for it, but chose to spend it on what was important instead. I know you know how hard it is for them, but remember, they've had each other all these years. Sure they've had rough times, but it doesn't quite look like they hit rock bottom because they stayed strong for each other." -
"..Then stay with me, Henry, please. Jacian can be dealt with later. Our daughter needs us. Both of us." Neddy slipped his hand into Henry's as they rushed towards the medic wing, and were herded into a small room by one of the nurses. As it ended up, Jacian was in there, knelt by the bedside of Rosaria. She was naked from the waist down, save a towel thrown across her hips. Her blouse was pushed up, and almost every inch of exposed skin was covered in burns and red patches where skin had been melted off and blood had boiled up. Jacian stood when Neddy and Henry came in, bowing briefly. The small went pale at the sight of his daughter, hardly hearing what Jacian said. "We were.. We were playing around, and she knocked into one of the stoves and the.. It was open, and some of the logs fell out, and she.. The water that had been boiling, it fell and splashed everywhere." He swallowed hard, glancing down at Rosaria. She was still awake, but it was obvious that the IV that was hooked into her arm was pumping her full of medicine that was making her sleepy. The doctor was applying salve to the lesser burns, wrapping what he could without making it worse. Neddy, balling his fists up in a flash of anger, almost turned on Jacian. He remembered what Henry had said, though, and took a deep breath. "Go, please. I.. We'll call you later. We'd like to be alone with our daughter for a while." The dark-haired boy nodded, bowed again, and rushed out.
Vince tensed a bit at the question, but quickly relaxed, continuing to stroke his fingers through Malakai's hair. He couldn't express how much he loved the other, could never put it into words. Vince had always had a little promise to himself- That if only one of them made it home, it would be Mala. He'd let that promise rule his whole life, had never had a sparing thought for his own safety, not really. Vince had given up everything, sold his body and his innocence and everything so that they could stay together so that he could care for the smaller. Now, though, he could care about more than just Mala being alive- And he knew he was in love with the other, but he didn't completely understand the idea of love. Sex was gross, and he wanted nothing to do with with it, but if it was Mala.. He swallowed. "If that's something you want, then yes, eventually. It's just.. Mala, I really hate it. I do. I know that if it was with you, I might like it, enjoy it even, but what if.. I don't? And what if I do something wrong, and hurt you, or it's just not good and you.." He trailed, hiding his face in the side of his boyfriend's neck. He wanted to give everything to him, truly, but he just wasn't sure how to express his worries to him.
James balked a bit when Fynn picked Cian up, standing quickly so that he could hug one of his brother's legs. "I-I.. You wont believe me if I tell you. Momma doesn't. And.. And he'll be fine in a few minutes! He just does this sometimes. See, he's calming down, Papa.." Cian's breathing was returning to normal and he hugged his arms around his father's neck, eyes still watering with tears. "Papa, we're hungry," James changed the subject, still playing with Cian's pant's leg, "And Cian really wants to go to the garden for a bit.. Won't you take us, Papa? We'll stay under the trees, in the shade, and if you're with us, it'll be okay.. Please, Papa?" He looked up at him with big, brown eyes, smiling brightly.
"No, no. They can look, but they can't touch. Those poor souls. I'm so cruel," He laughed, nuzzling Leith's chest with his nose. He ran one of his hands along his lover's side, smiling and listening to the sound of his heart beat. "Some day, when you're older and we've sorted it all out.. And when Aditya stops and his evil mage ruckus, I'll move you up to that castle I used to live in. We'll rebuild it, and we'll find my dragon, and we'll have a lovely little family there and I'll make Vince give us the land so that we can have our own little kingdom and not have to worry about anything! Any laws, taxes, or stupid affairs.. And you'll be my beautiful queen." -
"As you wish, love. We'll take care of our baby girl." Though Henry could hardly contain his own anger once he saw Rosaria's condition, squeezing Neddy's hand to show how upset he really was. He didn't seem to care for Jacian's explanation on what had happened to his daughter. He wouldn't physically do anything to the boy, but the glare he sent his way showed what he would like to do. "The kitchen is not a place to 'play around', and I'm interested to see you're completely unscathed. Please leave, Jacian, as my husband said. The room is far too small for all of us to be in here at once." With that, the king moved to Rosaria's side, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "My poor baby girl.."
"I know it's hard for you.. And I love you, too. We don't need to do it to be together, but I'd like to try sometime. Not here, I know you wouldn't want that, but maybe after we get home and get settled in. My fathers, though it will be awkward, can help us be prepared. I just..want to be one with you." Malakai admitted, hugging around his beloved tightly. He reached up to gently stroke Vince's hair, rubbing a hand in soothing circles in his back. He could sense just how upset and worried the blonde was about the idea of being intimate with each other. But even if it was a huge mess, he was willing to try, no matter what pains came before the pleasure. "I trust you, more than anyone, you know. If anyone is allowed to do those things to me, it's you. Remember that."
"Oh, James.." Fynn frowned as he tried to stand, wiping tears from Cian's eyes carefully. He reached down to pet the older boy's head and held a hand out for him to take. "Alright, alright. Calm down, son. There are so many strange things in the world, James, so you can tell me anything." The father managed to stand after getting James to let go of Cian's pant leg, smiling at them. "Let's go get something to eat then. We can eat in the gardens so long as you don't make your little brother do too much. No roughhousing or running. Okay?"
"The cruelest." Leith rolled his eyes at the other, giving him an innocent grin. "I'm already older. And my brother isn't that evil, you know. He's been doing really well with Ava around. And if you're expecting these hands to do manual labor, you're crazy." The elemental teased as he imagined having a family with Elias and living at the top of the mountains. "That does sound nice though, living with you in our own personal kingdom.." -
Rosaria nuzzled into Henry's touch, smiling at him. "We really were just playing around, Daddy.. Don't be so mean to Jace," She half-begged, eyes slipping shut, "It really was an accident," She mumbled as she drifted off, Neddy moving to sit beside his husband. He rested his head on his shoulder, frowning. "Let's not tell Hazard or Adria just yet. I want to give her a chance to rest before those two come in here and make noise. Not that they're noisy.. I just don't want them stirring her up," He mumbled, stroking the back of his oldest child's hand. Rosaria, at only fifteen, and declared that she never wanted to be queen because she was sure that her brother was coming back. Neddy had cried- She had more faith than he did, and he and Henry had made Hazard heir, despite the young boy's obvious distaste for the job. He couldn't wait to tell her that she'd been right all this time, and her brother was coming back. The doctor cleared his throat, setting down a roll of bandages. "I can't apply salve to the other burns yet, I have to stitch them first, but I need stronger medications before can do that. I'd like to let her rest for a while first, though. Are you planning to stay with her, or should I have a nurse come in and sit with her? Someone must make sure she doesn't pick at the burns."
"I don't like roughhousing anyways, Papa," James assured him, skipping a bit as they walked down the hall to keep up with his father's pace. "Oh! Cian, Cian, show him what I taught you." There was a pause as the boy looked down, brow furrowed in confusion. "Your ABD's, Cia- I mean, your ABC's. Do it!" The blonde giggled, and hid his face in Fynn's shoulder, singing a muffled "A, B, D, E, F, C, H, I, James, Lemenopee, Q, R, T, U, X, Z!"
"J, not James, silly," The older mumbled, but was still smiling up at his father, eyes full of pride. "I'mma good teacher, right, Daddy?"
"I mean older than what you are now.. Old enough that your brother wont balk at me stealing you away." He smiled, sitting up so that he was straddling Leith's hips, grinding down teasingly. He winked, and rolled off, standing and stretching. "Hmm. Let me go order that water and food.. Dinner and then a bath, or a bath and then dinner, doll?" He grabbed one of the pillows, setting it on Leith's stomach, so that he could sit beside the bed and lean his elbows on him without hurting him. -
"The kitchen is still no place to play, sweetie. Get some rest." He knew she didn't have a choice either way in terms of her going to sleep, but still, he gave her that reinforcement. Continuing to stroke her hair with one hand, Henry wrapped the other around Neddy's waist, rubbing his side to comfort him. "We'll tell them once she's finished being patched up. That way she'll have gotten to rest for a bit." He recalled her speaking with them just earlier about her pregnancy, and all the blonde could think about was the life inside of her, worried for its safety. Sure, it would be nice if she had waited, had been more careful, but he didn't want her to suffer that kind of loss. He was pulled from his thoughts by the doctor's throat clearing. "Ah..um yes. Let her rest. I have work to do still, but I'm sure Neddy would like to stay and keep an eye on her while I finish up my business for the day."
"Good. The only 'fighting' should be done in practicing the ways of the blade." Fynn told him, feeling his son's movements as he skipped. He moved his attention to Cian when James mentioned showing him something he'd been taught. "Oh? Big brother is teaching you now?" He smiled and listened to the younger boy's muffled singing, chuckling lightly at the end. "That was very good, Cian! James taught you well. But there's still some missing and flip-flopped letters, so Papa will help you both review, okay?" He gave the older boy a pat on the back, smiling proudly at him. "You both are going to make me proud. Your big sister, too. Every one of you kids are my pride and joy."
"I'm almost thirty, he can't do anything. He's already letting us go on trips around the regions like this. I think he'll just be happy to see us now and then, and..." He paused for a moment, glancing away. "I don't know if I want to leave him by himself." Leith became rather gloomy at the thought of leaving home permanently, but his spirits were quickly lifted, in a different form of joy, when Elias ground into his lap. "Hah~ I think..dinner and then a bath. We can be messy at dinner then wash up afterwards." The younger smiled at his lover, feeling his weight on his stomach. -
When the doctor left, Neddy swallowed hard, turning to look at Henry. "Can't you stay for a bit..? We can have dinner brought in for us, and you can surely at least sit and do paperwork. Henry, please don't leave.. I hardly see you away from meetings, and I know it's partly my fault because I've been so restless lately, but what if she wakes up? What if Jacian comes back? I'm so helpless without you, Henry.. Stay for a while, at least." He put on those puppy-dog eyes, pouting his lip. Neddy really was a lost cause when it came to being a neddy little f---- He was so lucky that Henry loved him enough to deal with him and take care of him. He nuzzled into his lover's chest, looking up at him. He knew Henry was busy, but he needed him to stay. At least for a little while.
"It's just.. Mala, bodies are disgusting. I mean, your's is beautiful. But I'm not sure I want to be with you.. In that.. Way. Not for a while, anyways. Someday, maybe. But it's really painful and gross and.. Let's talk about something else, okay? What do you think your parents are going to do when they find out about us? I'm kinda glad my dad is dead," He paused, sniling sadly, "It would have crushed him to know I wouldn't be marrying a good-to-do princess who'd pop out a few heirs.. Mala. You know, I don't think I would care if he were here to disapprove. I love you anyways," He assured him, standing up. He lifted Acaup bridal style and carried her to their own room for now, tucking her in on his thin cot. He bbrushed the bangs away from her face, smiling briefly. "For a girl, she's kinda pretty.. I look forward to putting the fear of death into her lovers. Don't you? God, it's going to be so great to be back.. I wonder how my horse is."
"Daddy, the alfalfabet is hard," Cian complained, lifting the sleeve of his shirt to his mouth to chew on it- A bad habit that he had picked up from James. The ten-year-old pouted, sticking his tongue out. "But I don't really like learning my letters, Papa.. I don't wanna have to relearn them. But maybe if it's you insteadof a stinky old tutor.." He paused, shrugging off ewhatever he was going to say. "And Cian, don't you know that you're too big to say 'daddy' anymore?" "Am not!" The younger protested, looking up at Fynn, "Daddy, am I too big? Tell him I'm not!"
While Fynn took James and Cian to dinner, Alicia gad decided to calm herself by going down and brushing their horses. After satisfying herself with their care and the state of the tack, she took the service stairwell back up, planning to spend some time in the study before even trying to find Fynn and talk to him again. Before she ever reached the study, though, the door leading to one of the towers flew open behind her, and someone grabbed her, slamming her into the wall. Light lit up the stair well from the torch in the stranger's hand, being held a little too close to her. She tried to scream, but when she opened her mouth a ball of cloth was stuffed into it, a bit too far, and she felt herself gag on it. Her sword belt was cut off and thrown away, and without giving her time to do anything, the man slammed her down into the steps. A sharp pain ran through her skull, and blood trickled down the side of her face. He arms were pinned at her back. The attacker leaned down, spitting a glob of saliva inti her eye. "f---in' whore," He muttered, setting the torch up beside the wall as he undid his belt with his free hand. He used it to secure her wrists, "Shoulda stayed in your homeland, little witch. Ain't got no business here, you and your brother f---in' seducing the king. Like to get my hands on him. You'll have to do for now," He scoffed, grabbed her head and slammed it into one of the steps again- Her eye caught on a piece of wood, and blood burst across her face but she couldn't feel it. Again, and the world went dark, and Alicia found herself spinning down into an abyss of pain and the thought of, Oh, God, I'm never going to see my children again.
"Dinner and then a bath sounds good. Tell me, though, would you mind giving me that blow job first? Your pretty little lips look too good to wait for," Elias teased, smiling at his lover. He knew Leith liked playing hard to get sometimes, but he really wanted to do something while they had the chance too. -
Henry tried to speak, but he couldn't deny those puppy eyes for long. It was true that they rarely spent time together, their first alone time in awhile being after their meeting earlier. He hoped that his husband would be at ease from now on, knowing their boys were alive and coming home. "Alright, I'll stay... I do have a meeting later, but I'll stay until then. And don't you worry about Jacian. I'll make it clear that he is not to come in here without permission from me and you. Okay?" He smiled and wrapped his arms around the other firmly. He kissed his forehead and rested his chin on top of the other's head. "You're so needy sometimes. My needy Neddy. I expect you to be like this in bed tonight, too. It's been a while since we've even cuddled."
Malakai narrowed his eyes at the other. "You talk like you've done it before.." He shook the thought from his head and gave the other a look of determination. "I don't care if it hurts or if we're messy, that's what baths are for. It wouldn't be just sex, you know. I want you to make love to me. But I understand if you don't want to.. If I ever have 'urges', I can just take care of it myself. Or call someone else to do it..." Just like you probably did. Malakai didn't want to change the subject, especially at the mention of his parents. He already knew they wouldn't care, that they would probably be overjoyed by it. Vince was determined to rule once he was of age, their union would officially unite their kingdoms. The brunette wasn't really listening to Vince talk about his father, but tensed when he mentioned that Avalon was pretty. That word didn't even begin to describe her. "She's beautiful. I already have two sisters to take care of, so you can scare Ava's boyfriends away."
"Al-pha-bet." Fynn smiled at the boy's mistake, breaking down the word for him. "I know it can be hard, there's a lot of letters. But you need to learn them so you can read and write well. And don't chew your sleeves, both of you. It's bad for your teeth and your clothes." The knight rolled his eyes when they argued about Cian being too old to call him whatever he wanted, but he couldn't tell him eight was too old when Avalon still called him that at thirteen. Along with Adria and Rosaria to their fathers. "You're not too old, Cian. You can call me daddy, dad, papa, or whatever works best for you. And so can you, James." He ruffled the older boy's hair as they walked into the kitchen. There seemed to have been a mess earlier that was still being cleaned. "Tell the nice chef what you two want to eat. We'll have it brought to us in the gardens.
Leith rose an eyebrow at his lover. "You have no shame, do you? What, these lips?" He questioned, licking over his own lips teasingly slow before puckering them. The younger always enjoyed an opportunity to tease his lover. "I guess you can have them, if you promise to put something inside me.." Now that they were alone in their room, Leith didn't mind expressing how aroused he'd really been. "I won't give you anything if you don't give me something in return~" -
"I suppose we do have to let him see her sooner or later.. Whatever did happen, he has it in her head that he really does love her. I don't know. Perhaps he does.. But he's not to be in here alone, I don't trust him that much. And I'd prefer if he stayed out until after she's gotten a good amount of rest." Neddy snuggled into Henry's side, dropping his hand away from Rosaria. He wrapped both his arms around him, leaning his face into his chest. "I'd very much like to celebrate the good news with you.. Alone," He hinted, looking up at the sound of a muffled giggle. Hazard and his girlfriend stood in the doorway, carrying a bunch of blankets that were so bright they hurt Neddy's eyes. Although he and Henry had been doing nothing naughty, he sprung away from him, glaring at his son. "Sorry, Papa," He laughed again, shaking his head- Black curls tumbled into his face. "One of the maids mentioned that Rosaria was in here.. Don't worry. I didn't tell Adria, and yes, I'll keep the noise down. I just figured she needed some heavier blankets.. The ones here are so thin," He mumbled, moving in to cover his sister up. His girlfriend, Vivian, lingered in the doorway. She was beautiful, but wasn't very open with anyone she wasn't close to. Hazard straightened up, looking at Henry. "Dad, what good news..?"
"..I have, Mala." Vince sighed, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand. "With that noble lady, of course, but that was absolutely disgusting. It only happened twice before I started making excuses.. I think I'm scarred for life," He muttered, pausing before fixing Malakai with a steady stare. "There were about eleven occasions on which I sold myself to some of those men who.. Well, you know. It's good money, and I always planned to save it up to get us home, but I always ended up spending it.. But, the point is, it was never because I wanted to. I never enjoyed it, not even once. I've never gotten pleasure out of it, and I hope you wont hold that all against me, Mala. I feel ten times happier just looking at you that I ever did laying with any of them. And, honestly, I don't care if you want to give your body to someone else. I understand if that's what you need, and I can't give it to you, I have no right to expect.." He swallowed, "I just don't want you giving anyone your heart, alright? That, I don't think I can live without." He closed the space between them, hugging him tightly without giving him a chance to refuse. Vince glanced back at Avalon, sighing. "She is. Aren't you excited about seeing Rosaria and Adria again? If I remember, you were never really too fond of them.."
Cian and James were more than pleased to request food, and ever happier to play under the trees while the waited for it to be fixed. When the meal was brought out, Cian made Fynn held him eat- His motor skills weren't great just yet, and though James would have been more than happy to help, he was busy stuffing his own face. Once they were all cleaned up, they headed back inside- James protested, he wanted to stay out longer, but Cian was growing restless and his little face was red from over exerting himself.
Alicia was unconscious for a while- She didn't know how long, exactly. When she woke up, she had been rolled to the side of the stair well, and a few maids passed by her, giggling and scoffing as they went. She fond herself drifting off again after that. The second time she woke, the pain was too real to let her rest again. It seemed like not much time hand passed, and after testing, her hands had been untied. One of her wrists was bent awkwardly under her, but she really couldn't feel it. At first, she tried to call for help, but her voice was gone completely. After moving her tongue around a bit, she found that there was plenty of blood sitting at the bottom of her mouth, along with a bitter, gross liquid that she knew all too well what it was. Alicia rolled to the side, throwing up a few times before she could gather herself. The door to the hall was only ten steps above her, but oh, God, she could hardly even move. She had to, though, or she could die there- It was obvious that there weren't many people who would be willing to help her. Sucking in a breath, she began the climb up. It felt like it took her hours to crawl/drag herself up, and an eternity more to lift herself to her knees to open the door. She fell into the hall, dim after noon light drifting over her body. Alicia gave a weak sob, knowing she couldn't go much further, hoping that someone would happen upon her.
It seemed like a dream when she heard a small voice saying, "Momma?"
"..Momma!" James tore away from Fynn, rushing over to the half-dressed lady laying strewn in the hall. Blood pulled around her head, and her arms and legs were covered in lacerations and bruises. One side of her face was coated completely in blood, and her eye was- Well, there was something very wrong. James stopped a few feet away, eyes wide, chest heaving.
"I'll finger you, I'll f--- you, I'll f---in' lick you dry. Whatever you want, love, just ask it. There's not many things I wouldn't do for you," Elias assured him, grinning brightly. He stood, sitting at the edge of the bed, motioning Leith over. -
"I don't trust him that much either. I don't think this was all an accident... Not even close." Henry wrapped an arm around his lover, rubbing his shoulder slowly. He loved when Neddy was close to him like this, reassuring him that they were still as in love as they had always been. "Mm..That sounds wonderful. Alone time with my darling." The blonde rested his head on top of the younger's as they relaxed together, keeping an eye on their daughter. But the moment was ruined when Hazard came in, causing Neddy to pull away from him as if they had been doing something private. Henry pouted a bit and looked up at Hazard, watching him cover his sister. "You're such a sweet boy. You can tell Adria later, after Rose has had some rest." He glanced over at his husband then back at his son before growing serious and lowering his voice. "Malakai's coming home. But keep this solely between us and your sisters. We don't want to make a huge announcement just yet."
Malakai tensed at the mention of Vince selling himself to others, reaching up to grip his shoulders and push him away. "Please don't touch me.. I can't believe you would do something like that. I'll kill them... I'll kill them all." He shook his head, moving back until he found a place to sit. He began to sulk at the thought of his lover being with anyone else, despite knowing that Vince had never enjoyed any of it. He didn't want anyone to touch his boyfriend, ever, and one day he would make it clear to everyone who the other prince belonged to.
Fynn smiled as his boys enjoyed being outside for some fresh air, allowing them a short time in the sun before ushering them back into the shade to eat. He helped the younger boy eat, trying to get him to do some of the feeding himself. "My messy boys." He smiled and wiped Cian's face.
After coming inside and getting the boys cleaned up, he held James's hand while carrying Cian again to take them to their room to sleep. Though he worried that he hadn't seen or heard from his wife all day, but it also didn't surprise him. He figured she was still upset about their argument. Until he felt a tug on his arm, in which James had broken free to run towards the woman that was on Fynn's mind. He rushed after the boy, gently pulling him away once he saw the condition Alicia was in. "James, do Daddy a favor and take Cian to bed, okay? I'm going to take Momma to the doctors. Go." The knight ordered them and lightly nudged them in the direction of their room before going to look his wife over, trying to lift her as carefully as possible.
Leith's cheeks lit up, a grin coming over his face. "Oh? I'll take all of that, my lovely~" He cooed as he sat up and crawled over to the other, brushing a piece of blue hair behind his ear. "Let's make a mess of this room, shall we?" -
Neddy tried to stop Henry from telling him, nudging his shoulder with wide eyes as the words left his husband's mouth. Hazard went pale, still and rigid, and Neddy breathed out- Okay, he wasn't going to freak- "Oh. My. God." Hazard broke out in a smile, trying to lift his girlfriend up by her waist and spin her around, literally shouting in joy. The king winced, giving Henry a pointed look, as if to say, "This is your fault." While the younger boy whooped and hollered, Rosaria didn't move- Not even one bit. When he finally calmed down, Hazard grinned at his fathers. "Really? He's..? I don't have to be a king anymore, then? No offense, Dad, but I... Didn't want to. Oh! What about Vince?" Neddy, eyes closed, pinching the bridge of his nose, responded. "He's coming home too, but I swear if you start jumping around, I will physically remove you from this room."
"..Mala," Vince began to step forward, but paused, clenching his fists at his side. He turned away from the boy. If he kept looking at him, he would start crying, and that was the worst thing he could do- Only twice, only twice in the whole time they'd been missing had he cried. Once when they had been sentenced to death, and the first time he'd sold his body. He would not do it now. Swallowing hard, he tried to keep his voice steady. "When I did those things, or rather, let them happen to me, it was all for you.. Every time we got dangerously short on money, or when we needed something very badly, I considered it, but it was always a last resort. I need you to understand that, Mala. And you're not killing anyone, because I'm not giving you their names.. Now, I wont touch you, but I do expect you to come and help me serve dinner." He turned back, holding a hand out to him. Somewhere in the back on his mind, he registered that they should really talk about this, sort it out before it became a problem, but the thought of telling Malakai anymore made him feel sick.
The moment Cian was on the ground, James turned him so that he wasn't looking at Alicia. That seemed to be all the small boy was capable of, staring wide-eyed at his mother with a look of horror. Even when Fynn nudged him, he couldn't make himself move. "Is.. Is she dead?" He stammered out- This was James' fear, a reoccurring nightmare he had where one of both of his parents died- He lost one mother, one he never knew, when he was born. He dreaded it happening again. Alicia's hoarse scream of pain when she was picked up seemed to snap him from his trance. He ran, pulling Cian with him to their room. The dying sorceress struggled weakly for a few seconds before realizing who was holding her. She tried to relax, but it hurt too much to do anything- So instead, she lay limply in his arms, uninjured eye glassed over.
"Mm. Cover it in your seed. It'll be a vast improvement," Elias agreed, placing a his hands on both of his husband's thighs. "So, we should switch places if you're going to help me out with my little problem then, right?" -
Henry chuckled lightly at his lover, then checked Rosaria to see she was still deep in sleep. "Those pain killers are damn strong. But anyway, they're coming home, and yes, you don't have to be a king anymore. It'll still be a few years before he can claim the throne though. And you really need to calm down.." The king stood to put a hand on his younger son's shoulder, looking between him and his girlfriend. He wished Vivian had been elsewhere for the conversation but he was sure she would remain quiet. "Remember, not a word to anyone. This is direct family business only. Buut I guess we can let Vivian go knowing about it.. Or Neddy could play with her memory." He teased with a grin, understanding just how happy and relieved Hazard was.
"I can kill that woman." Malakai didn't want to hear it, any of it. He didn't care for excuses or reasons, frankly they made him more angry with the other. "Maybe you should've learned to use your mouth.." It was true in times when they were were dangerously low on coin, he'd considered doing favors himself. He had once when someone offerred a decent amount of coin because of his feminine face. He admitted that the experience had been gross, but he'd at least never given up his virginity, something that Vince had clearly not bothered saving for him. Malakai glared at the hand and turned away. "I feel sick. I don't even want to think about food."
"She's alive, I promise." Though the sound that came from her confirmed that, it was awful to listen to and clearly it scared the boys away. It was clear whoever had done this to his wife had intended to do enough to leave her for dead. What angered him the most was the mess and bruising between her thighs. "We'll find who did this, I swear it. I know you question my love, but even if we were separated, I won't ever allow anyone to get away with hurting you. I only wish...I could've stopped them." Fynn growled mostly at himself as he rushed her to the medics.
"Mixed Leith and Elias babies everywhere~" The younger placed his arms over his lover's shoulders, smiling at him before inching closer. "I'm going to suck you dry. Then..I want you to make me come from all of those things. Your tongue, your fingers, and your c---. I'm going to make you fill me until my belly swells from how much you give me." -
Neddy almost laughed at the look of offense that overtook Hazard's face when Henry suggested he use magic- Almost, because what he said wasn't funny at all. "He will not use magic on my girlfriend! Not now, or ever. She knows not to talk, Papa, she's not dense." He had moved so that Vivian was behind him, as if shielding her from danger. Hurt flooded over Neddy. He'd faced bias many times since revealing himself to the court. They had worked to weed out those that couldn't open their minds up to allow peace, handing their positions over to people who deserved it, but the prejudice was still there. Neddy hadn't, though, expected it to come from his own son. He stood, brushing off his pants as if there was anything on them. "I think I'm.. Going to go bathe. I'll see you all at dinner." With that, he left. He knew he should have stayed and watched over Rosaria, but he was sure that Hazard would. A lump rose in his throat, threatening to make him throw up. The man made it, barely, to his bathroom before he leaned over the bathing pool and retched.
"Sometimes the coin from using my mouth wasn't enough, Malakai." He inhaled, heading for the door, anger boiling inside him that needed to be released. He pulled it open, looking back at his boyfriend. "..I love you," He managed, before leaving and slamming it shut. He punched the nearest wall, hard, watching the wood creak under his busted knuckles. He left the hall quickly, rushing down the stairs and out of the stable. In the far back, where all the tack was stored, was a little trunk that Vince had purchased when they'd found a job here. Inside it was a broadsword- Not the best quality metal, but it was fairly balanced and well taken care of. He drew it out, breathing. When he and Malakai had been kidnapped, Vince had only barely began his swordsmanship lessons. As soon as it became clear that they weren't going home any time soon, he'd taken to training himself. Twice he'd had to sell the sword he'd bought, but he always found a replacement. Closing his eyes, he let the feel of the handle absorb him, feet finding their placing on the ground. Thumb and index finger both above the hilt for maximum control, blade out and low. He wished he had gotten formal training- The first thing he did when he got back, when they were settled, would be to find a good sword.
"Hurts," She whimpered, barely able to work out the word before dropping into black completely. No! She had to stay awake. She knew she had a concussion, that if she fell asleep she might not ever wake up. There was something else, too. Something she needed to tell Fynn. With her unbroken wrist, she reached up, looking for his face but connecting with his shoulder instead to get his attention. "Hey," Alicia mumbled, forcing the word through her torn throat. "Y-You.." It was obvious that she couldn't say very much. Without giving herself a chance to stop and let the pain pass, she rushed out, "I'm with child. Your child."
"Let's switch places, beautiful. I want to see that pretty head of yours between my legs. God. That's a sight I'm never gonna get sick of," Elias hummed, leaning his chin on Leith's head.
