Saffra looked up and saw ashes around Schi's den."where's your family?" She asked Schi

Schi didn't reply and simply looked toward the remnants of the place she once called home.

"you too huh" Saffra said as she looked down at her paws.

"It happened to you?! Oh my gosh, Saffra, I'm so sorry!" Schi said, forgetting all about her own issues.

Saffra wiped away the tear in her eye with her paw. "its okay. The only thing that matters right now is finding the elder foxes. We need to know what's going on!" She said.

Schi nodded and began sniffing. "I think I have a scent..." She sniffed the grass.

Saffra followed after Schi. It wasn't long after they started tracking that they both picked up another scent. Humans.

Schi tensed as she froze. "I want those foxes..." Said a man before a gun was heard being cocked and positioned.

By instinct, Saffra grabbed Schi's paw and started running as fast as she could in the other direction.

Schi followed quickly, eyes wide with fear as there were gunshots. She yelped as a bullet hit her back leg.

Saffra ran along then dashed up a tree. She hid with Schi in an abandoned squirrel hole as she wrapped Shci's wound in aloe leaves.

Schi licked her wound, whimpering. "Stupid humans..." She whimpered, ears flat.

"I think we have no nice but to run to the wildlands. Maybe we could meet up with the elder wolves. They might help us get to the elder foxes."Saffra said as she tightened the aloe leaf cast on Schi's leg.

Schi nodded slightly. "Agreed..." She weakly stood, swaying slightly. "We have no time to waste."

Saffra looked at the sunset."correction we have about three hours to waste. The sun is setting and you need rest. I'll wake you up at 12:00am" She said to Schi as she laid her back down.
