No....can't remember which game but it's shown that someone else from a different group chooses the same three Pokemon as the player is the rivals are progamreed to choose the type you're weak against...)

Slayer. I think people should be able to chose the same pokemon because its not like there is only one eevee/chamander/bulbisoar/squrtle.
