The area is Manhattan, New York in 2042, the "Age of Rebirth", by some. The United States has slowly been entering a third-world country state of being until suddenly it's primary antagonist, the Communistic Sovereign Party of China & Russia, a conglomerate of the dying Chinese nation and the guerrilla-type Russia landmass after a popularized trend of capitalism forced China into a governmental rehabilitation, one that ultimately proved damning. Suddenly, America, being a capitalist-modeled continent, burst into political and economical superiority, and soon began to enjoy being the primary superpower, blissfully unaware of the destructive merge of the Eastern lands.
Soon enough and without public notice, virtually every Asian and even some European peoples collided with each other, Russia and China being in the lead. With the combined power of Korea, Japan, Thailand, China, Russia and the Islamic States, they easily conquered nearly all of Africa and instilled a flourishing colonized land into them. By now America, Great Britain, and Canada were informally the "Reigning Trio", and vastly superior in all things save numbers.
Soon enough, the Unified Eurasian Continental Communistic Party attacked England, and a catastrophic war enraged. World War III had begun. America came to the land's aid, punishing Russia, the primary military-state with barrages of nuclear warheads. Russia was left bombarded and in ashes, but in a focused attack, all of Europe, including Britain, was in the Party's iron fist.
Sensing danger, America and Canada quickly funneled funds for the creation of bombs with devastating biological effects. As the UECCP's forces were about to flank North America, they launched. Dozens upon dozens of nuclear-sized biohazard s bombarded across Eurasia and even Africa, utterly wiping out the opposition. Over half of the world's population died within the next month. This had not gone unnoticed.
South America quickly took notice, concern and then action of this preposterous genocide. Becoming a sort of singular, unitary government, they commanded the Allied Capitalist Regime (USA and Canada, along with the desperate Mexico and some of the Caribbean Islands nations) to cease their destruction against the remnants of the Eastern and Middle worlds. America then followed up with an all-too appropriate "f--- you", and sent millions of naval, land and aerial troops for encapturement of the south. They didn't pull out their bio-destro (biological destruction) bombs on "The South" however, as they knew they themselves would ultimately become infected. And thus, even South America unified themselves as the Indigenous People's Unitary Sovereign (IPUS). Some consider this to be World War IV, a mere three years after the destruction of Eurasia and Africa.
And then you have the Second Civil War of the United States. This happened when a vast *minority* of the American peoples put up arms and fought against the majority of their own civilian brethren and American government. The entire country famously broke into two, the "freedom-fighters" . They fought because they seen the annihilation of Eurasia as blasphemous, while many seen them all as inhumane b------s supporting slavery, hypocrisy and terrorism. They named themselves the "Humane Unified Mandate of Aiding Normality", or H.U.M.A.N., for short. Clever. Then the rest of the civilians, the paramilitary, and the national government never truly came into a formal organization, but commonly referred to themselves as "The American Union", for old-time's sake.
The American Union was vastly greater in both number and power, so the HUMAN secession group was at odds with success. They would've met help from IPUS, but Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean threatened with invasion and a potential bio-destro nuke if they interfered. Wary and withdrawn, they prevented any public aid. However, they did send something critical to the commonly-referred to "World War Z", and it's aid came in the form of a blueprint. Of the Pentagon, guarded carrier of the infamous bio-destro missiles.
And so, HUMAN eagerly accepted the plans, and compiled every resource into a splinter group of 10,000 or so trained, most talented militia. This was a plan that would take decades in the making to succeed.
Fast-forward approximately fifteen years, and the Indigenous People's Unitary Sovereign was defeated. Brazil and Peru, capitals of the resistance, were invaded and morphed into colonies of America. In just a year's time, the South Americans were either culled, or entered into society as "Indentured Servants", treated little better than the slaves of old. Even Mexico was brutally assaulted after they seceded from the Allied Capitalist Regime, fed up with their deafening taxes and subpar treatments. The Caribbeans faced a similar fate, merely for harvesting a bio-destro nuke in secret. By now, the United States of America and Canada single-handedly controlled the entire world, all of South America, the recovering lands of Africa, and the bitter remains of Eurasia, they even colonized Antarctica for Christ's sake. Australia had miraculously remained neutral the entire time, but had been indoctrinated into the Allied Capitalist Regime after threats of genocide.
And soon, the H.U.M.A.N. secession group was publicly executed, but had secretly infected themselves into the country of Canada. Canada was having it's own civil war at that time, save it was the government fighting for the purge of America. With HUMAN's help, they had won, and kept their opposition in secret, producing faulty weapons and fake maps for the US. They already had no public antagonism, so they had no need to use them and thus no suspicions.
After a mere two years, the United States suffered greatly. The Pentagon had been brutally attacked, and their own military forces were hardly up to task, due to both slack and weapon deficiency. By the time the South American (technically now just "the Southern" and African defense groups came into play, America was down by half of their bio-nukes. Subsequently, both the Eastern and Western coast were struck by these ravenous weapons of mass destruction.
HUMAN quickly retreated into South America, and with the US' own daze of hysteria, successfully seceded from the Allied Capitalist Regime's hold. Canada also attempted a month later, but by then the United States quarantined and exterminated the infected, and bashed Canada into submission. And while these infected were dealt with, it was only temporary, and the US had no idea what was going to happen.
As they massaged the only known Anti-Virus within their country, it was dated. By about twenty-five years. This antidote did prevent death from the bio-destro nukes, but was no match for the newly-mutated hypermodification properties of the virus. Day by day, the victims of the virus America's infamous bombs held were morphed into hideous cannibalistic monsters, with an insatiable hunger for meat, and an unquenchable thirst for blood.
The United States has held out however, yet the infected population continues to grow. We are stuck in the most populous region of this b------ land, and South America holds the only key to stopping America, and perhaps halting this virus, dubbed "Necrotis Regenum", even if this hope is questionable. We are the few remaining members of HUMAN. We are the few remaining members of humanity. We must escape. -
