Possible soap plot?

Circus
C1 is the owner of a huge circus, and has recently made a plan to tour the world. As the ring master, they're in charge of the whole thing, and they run a tight ship. After all, aren't rules necessary when your performers are all escaped criminals? Yeah, that's right- C1's workers and performers are all people who really, really need the work. Who else would want to work for such a controlling person? Of course, they don't want to work with him either, but no one gets to leave, other than by way of death. C1 can't have his secrets getting out, right? C1, not surprisingly, is an escaped convict as well. Wanted for the murder of his wife an infant sons. After being on the run for years, perhaps getting out of the country is the best idea.
However, he needs to find a couple new acts. And, so, he comes across C2- A young, spunky - And, unknowingly to C1, an undercover detective - acrobatic/other who seems to be extremely talented. C1 immediately gives them the job, and, off they go. The tour is to take five years in total, and that's more than enough time to get to know your performers. However, C1 gets to know C2 a little.. Too well, well enough that, after the first few months, he starts growing attached. C2 seems to want to be close to him as well, and C1 grabs onto the chance. After years of guarding themselves, C1 falls in love, and C2 finds themselves growing fond of the strict ring master as well.
But, first, C1 needs to tell C2 his secret. No- Not about the murder, C2 knows about that..
The secret is, C1 didn't do it.

Allllriiiighty. Genders are flexible, though I'd prefer C2 either way, and.. Well, any takers? I want someone experienced. -

Ummm may I have C2 though? -
And also I was thinking- C1 can be any gender, idgaf, but C2 should be gender fluid, and able to pass as male, female, both, or neither- And that's what makes them unique, other than being an amazing acrobatic.
