Marco had shrugged, not really wanting to stay but not wanting to go into the rain, either. He figured it wouldn't be such a big deal if he slept outside of a cage, as long as he behaved. His thoughts were interrupted, though, by a light turning on and a door opening. He stared at it with horror until he was suddenly jerked backwards towards the door.
Once they were outside and the door was shut, Marco stood staring at the cat hybrid. "Wh-wh-... We have to go back in!" He shouted, because even though he was afraid of whoever was about to see them he was getting very tired of the cold, wet rain. "It's freezing out here!" -
"Oh, oh, I know, hang on," Hendrix moved to try the door, knocking over a can with his tail, hissing at the clattering noise. When he regained himself, he tried the knob, and found that it was locked from the inside. Hendrix had never been outside for very long, and it was cold, and he was getting wet with the dirty rain water.
His ears flattened against his head as he realized what he had done, and he mewled, turning to look at Marco. "Um.." -
Marco stood glaring at Hendrix, arms crossed and ears flat against his head. He couldn't believe he'd worked so hard to get in, and now, here he was stuck outside again, with nothing to his name.
"Great," he muttered, lowering his head. "Now we'll have to find somewhere else. And this was my best guess. You know the city, don't you? Do you know somewhere else to go?" -
"I.." Hendrix locked his eyes on his feet, letting his tail curl between his legs, nervously silent as the rain fell down around him. He swallowed, shaking his head. "No," He admitted, chewing on his lip, keeping his ears pinned flat, ready to be yelled at.
"I don't.. I've never been out of the shelter before. I'm sorry," He whined, starting to shiver a bit. "Do you know anywhere we could go? You smell like you live outside in the city," He said, not really meaning it as an insult, but as a fact. -
Marco knew that look of shame and guilt that Hendrix had, all chewing on his lip and his ears flat. Marco's brother was a harsh guy, so he'd made the face many times before being shouted at.
He didn't feel like treating Hendrix the same way. Well, he did want to get a little angry, but it really wouldn't help anything. So, the fox just sighed, crossed his arms, and looked around. "Well. It's going to be cold wherever I take us. And any sort of cave will be damp. But, at least we'll be out of the rain..." -
