Mhm~
Arden had been nervous, very nervous, for his first day of school. As he got ready, the rest of his house was still asleep, so he was at least reassured that his parents wouldn't see him leave the house with a particularly flat chest. What really was worrying him, though, was what people at school would think of him.
He'd worked on trying to get a deeper voice, but it hadn't worked all that much. It had only gotten to a sort of neutral. So, his main worry was that people would either pick up on his voice, or the way that he wore just the slightest bit of makeup. Foundation, concealer and mascara. It was something that he knew made him appear a little more feminine, which was unfortunate, but he'd grown to be uncomfortable going out without it on.
When he arrived at the school building, after riding the bus full of sleepy high schoolers there, he made a bee line down the sidewalk towards the entrance. He was trying to avoid confrontations, avoid having to talk to anyone and give his voice away. -
Thanks~
Cameron woke up to an empty house. His dad had left years ago, and his mom was probably out with her boyfriend. He wasn't terribly upset though, he had the showers all to himself. He took his time getting ready and making sure he looked okay. He didn't like the people at his school, but figured he may as well not look like a slob. It was his senior year, after all.
Senior year. He smiled to himself as he packed his backpack. One more year of immature, hormonal idiots and he'd be on his way to college. He knew where he was going, too. Surprisingly enough, the state college offered an excellent degree in computer animation, and he would be able to go on a scholarship. Most of his classes were advanced, and the teachers were already recommending him.
He thought more about this as he walked to school. It was a good plan. His mom would have probably remarried by then, so his obligations to her would be gone. He'd have only himself to take care of. When he got to the school, he shouldered his way past jock guys and flirting girls, retreating to that quieter section of the school halls where his locker was. -
agh sorry my replies will be increasingly slow ;3;
Nobody seemed to pay a glance to Arden as he made his way into the building. One hand held a piece of paper out it front of him that contained his locker number and class schedule, while the other was stuffed in his pocket. It took him a good while, but he finally found the junior and senior lockers in the back area of the building.
Opening his locker wasn't as hard as he thought it would be, and he managed it in a few minutes. He set his water bottle and lunch in there, opting to carry his bag with him. The hallway, he felt, was eerily quiet and quite desolate except for a few other students. -
It's akright.
Cameron was arranging and decorating his locker just so. Pictures of other guys and bands. Depressing stuff, emo stuff, motivational quotes. No mirrors. He glanced up as a new student entered the area and squinted. The guy was pretty good looking and seemed competent enough. A little feminine, but all the cuter. He closed his locker and leaned against it. "Hey, man." -
Arden was just closing his locker when he head a greeting from near him, and turned to look at the person who had spoken to him. The first thing that struck him was that they had actually referred to him as a guy, which was rather reassuring.
Then, he realized he'd have to reply. "Hey," he greeted, noticing quickly his high tone of voice. He continued, trying it a little lower. "What's up?" -
Cameron couldn't help chuckle at the pitch change. Adolescents... He delegated to ignore the boy's question and pose one of his own. "You're new? I haven't seen you around."
Now that fhe newcomer was turned towards him, Cam was able to get a better look. Slender body, soft skin, gentle eyes. The boy seemed nice, and Cameron couldn't help thinking that the junior was beautiful. "Oh. I'm Cameron." -
Arden nodded, and one of his short hairs wiggled it's way out of the gelled up styling. He reached up, carefully fixing it. "Yeah. Just moved here last month from Ohio."
Just then, he finally shut his locker, and turned entirely to face the boy talking to him. He seemed nice, since he was greeting him and asking if he was new. "I'm Arden." -
Cameron raised his eyebrows. "Mm, Ohio. Why here, then?"
He jerked his head up in the usual 'hey' nod. "Nice name. Kinda unusual. I like it..." He glanced at the hall clock and made a face. "Class starts in two. You know where you're going?" -
Bump.
Unless you're already bored with me? -
oops no sorry ;3;
"Dad got a job around here," he answered, shrugging. "Not too bad of a change, I suppose. Two years of high school there and the last two here, so at least it's an even number."
Arden smiled, appreciating the compliment, then looked at the clock. Hurriedly, he unfolded his schedule in his hands and looked at it. "Agh... Looks like Government on the top floor."
