Keno Joyous NewbieWhat the hell is happening. God's fury? Nature's revenge? Poseidon's carnage? I don't know anymore.
A few years back, everything was unimaginably swell and blissful in the Key Virgins. The chain of islands sported beautiful trees and delicious tropical fruit. It was like a paradise away from paradise for me. I haven't seen my wife for half-a-year and now I wish I'd followed up on my promise to visit her for our 8th anniversary last Tuesday instead of waiting for my break in a week. I just hope I can make it out before I'm dead. Oh Emily...
Life's gone to hell. This "paradise" has been a sinister plot to kill millions since before I even got here. It's already permanently scarred across the face of my TV, the already-thin underwater mound support for the island is washing away. No major changes yet, but an entire city's been swallowed and the coasts are beginning to drown.
Tsunamis have killed going into the dozens of thousands and the infrastructure repair bill is expected to be a damned nightmare. The airways and sea ferries have already been wiped out due to the last wave of people leaving. Yet there are still so many on the island... The officials gave us a month at best to leave the island before it sunk completely...
I just can't believe this is happening. Right now, out of my window I can see the clogged streets. Hundreds of thousands have been camping near the previously mentioned airports and sea ferries and have literally killed each other for a simple ticket. Many more have illegally passed onto the planes and ships. The local police have turned into half the national sea guard and it's like The Purge every day in the city. The police are too busy trying to prevent illegal escape by the residents. I myself was almost killed just a few days ago. b------'s still in the hospital, ha.
But still. My phone's been buzzing non-stop as my wife won't stop calling. And to make everything worse... We're expecting. She's nearly due and I'll be damned if my child is going to enter this world without his father. That's right. I'm getting the hell out of here. With my friends. Me and the gang are going to do whatever the hell we can do to escape, probably by boat. I can drive a sea shark but I can't fly... Hmm, insert a clever word for the controls of a plane here.
I have a feeling the next week is going to be ridiculously dangerous, might even get myself ki --
NO. Like I said, I am NOT going to let my son or daughter enter this wretched world without their father, hell no. It's time to escape my Drowned Paradise.
Let The Games Begin.
=====End of Plot=====
Character sheets are free-form, but you NEED to have these attributes listed;
Name,
Age,
Special skill (Martial Arts master, pilot, weapons expert, etc..)
Gender,
Ethnicity,
Looks (preferred to be described in sections).
As you can probably guess, you need to have swell English and descriptive rolls. You don't need to be posting entire books just to describe one scene, but a single sentence will have your miserable arse punted out in a matter of minutes.
Accepting up to 5 extra people, may make an exception. You can join along the way, but you can't just suddenly pop in the group. Explain your role in the story via a "Other" section. -
May i join?
-
Keno Joyous NewbieLet me check you first.
-
Keno Joyous NewbieHmm. You only post single sentences and you're grammar is rather iffy.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but for now no. -
Yo, sign me up.
Do our characters need to know each other or am I free to go with anyone I want? -
Keno Joyous NewbieIt's preferred that our characters remain in a single group (or at-least have major interactions with each other), but if you've an interesting idea, I'm all up for grabs.
For now, g'night. -
Well, that's implied, but what I meant was, did our characters know each other before everything went to s---, or are they strangers?
-
Keno Joyous NewbieAah, I see your question now. Sorry.
Well, that depends on what you want. Your character can know the others as long as it's before the roleplay starts. Afterwards, they have to be strangers, and it'll be slightly more difficult to join the group.
But still, whether they're a friend/enemy or complete stranger is up to you. -
Keno Joyous Newbie"But still, whether they're a friend/enemy or complete stranger is up to you"
For now.
And whether or not they're known before-hand, they still must meet up at some point in the roleplay, rather than settling that before the fact. -
Keno Joyous Newbie(Just to make things clear, as I seem to be having a problem at, the characters don't have to know each other or join each other at all. However, they can't originally know each other if the RP has already started.)

Keno Joyous Newbie(Bumpeth)

Keno Joyous Newbie(I bump once again, c'mon IHLAOY.)
-
I mean, I guess I could join.
It's been awhile. -
(Sorry, I was waiting for your character first.)
Name: Finnegan Gilroy
Age: 25
Special skill: Jury Rigging. Moderate experience in fire arm usage.
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Irish
Looks: Finn's hair is a mess of green, pink and grey stripes that ride messily over her head and end in a series of short braids down her neck. Her ears are pierced with several small bearings, along with her nose and lips. Eyeliner punctuates her blue eyes from the mess of her face.
Her right arm is entirely covered in tattoos; long flowing wisps and webs that end with a large skull printed on the back of her hand. Across her knuckles is the word 'fire' but she can't remember when or why she chose that word in particular.
Her clothing is much different from her assumed appearance; a loose fitting black suit that is as clean as Finn could keep it and a pair of matching pants. -
Keno Joyous NewbieSorry, I've built a habit of waiting for others to post their characters first, I hate it when I post mine and the rest leave. I guess I'll spare this one.
Leah, you have good grammar.
Decent RPing skills.
Accepted.

Name: Alexander Tess Harrison
Description: Alexander Tess Harrison, a fair-faced man standing tall at 6'3, is a man proud of his accomplishments. He seems to never miss a beat on his surroundings, even whilst playing digital games on his most favorite item in all the cosmos, his laptop, he perks his head up at the slightest disturbance.
Due to this, the Russian-American man tends to keep to himself and is quiet, almost abnormally so. He would always complain about how his short black hair would never grow but 3 inches beyond his scalp, and literally thought he was cursed. By now he's gotten primarily over the notion, mainly because he's firmly against any and all things supernatural. Also because he tends to like it slicked back.
He never seems to leave his house without a bottle of sunscreen hidden somewhere within proximity. He hates it exaggeratively so when his pale skin burns beneath the sun, and often muses about being cursed for such also. He never forgets the sunscreen, and he never seems to forget anything, save for his pants sometimes.
When he had first met his wife, it was but a shallow infatuation. He liked her for her curves, she liked him for his slim but built physique. Had they not taken 4 of the same classes together in their private school, she never would've discovered his actual, quick-thinking and intuitive self.
Now, since he's arrived at Paradise, he's laid around quite much, losing some of his muscle but still able to hand an arm-wrestling match. He's still kept his features sharp and his mind sharper, training the paying locals in various forms of the martial arts.
He enjoys his life, really. Save for now.
