C1 is the son of two wealthy, aristocratic parents, who give him whatever it is that he's wanted in his life. When he is five, they give him a dog hybrid, C2, to be his friend in the large home that they own.
Even when C1 starts going to school, he still considers C2 his best friend and they grow up this way until C1 gets to high school. C2 finds that C1 grows apart from him, because he gets a job and even a girlfriend.
Four years later, after high school, C2 thinks that C1 will start to hang around him again. But, C1 makes a decision that's much worse- he moves away without any warning, because he wants to join the army. When C1 leaves, C2 gets a nanny, and is slated to live out the rest of his days without his owner (in this, an average hybrid life would be around 25 years).
One day, four more years later, C1 decides to return home when he finishes his army career.

Oh yah, it would start either at the time that C1 leaves and then it would time skip to the part where he comes back, or we can just start when he comes back.
