She gasped and sat up straight when he came over, wiping away the tears and letting her hair fall to cover the forming bruises. "Nothing! I'm fine! Just slipped, is all..." She scrambled to her feet and took a deep breath.
-
Damian felt his anger boil inside, and suddenly, he felt calm again. "I need you to tell me what really happened here. And please, don't hide it from me." His hands began twitching.
-
She gulped once and stared at the cutting board a full minute before answering. "Start cooking these carrots for me and you've got a deal?"
-
Damian thought for a moment, then nodded. "Sure thing. But you better tell me.." He stood up and walked over to the stove.
-
Kris scraped the carrots into a large bowl and handed them and vegetable oil to him. She proceeded to cut peppers and onions while telling the story. "It's really not that complicated. Those two are a happily married couple, with no children except for an "adopted" daughter. They're very faithful except when the Mrs. isn't around. His impulses get to be too much and decides he wants something to do with said "daughter." He's usually done by the time his wife gets home, but I guess he wasn't able to clean up in time, so when she got home, I guess she got upset." She stopped slicing and stared out a window.
-
Damian stayed silent while she told him what happened, while taking the bowl and oil to the stove and setting it to the right temperature. He realized he was completely speechless, so after he set everything up, he walked back over to her and just stared at her with a blank look.
-
Realizing she was being stared at, she looked over at him and blinked. "Wh-what..?"
-
"I'm sorry you had to go through all that. But, know that you'll soon be free." He walked back over to the stove and smiled. "So, let's cook them a nice meal..." He didn't know it, but he had an ominous tone to his voice. "I've been in six different foster homes, all of which I've hated. Soon, you'll see why I had to go to so many." He checked the carrots and found that they were done.
-
Kris walked over and started putting the onions and peppers with the carrots. "Oh.. What do you mean, I'll be free soon? And.." She tilted her head a little "...a nice meal?" She went over to the counter and started cutting up chicken.
-
Damian didn't answer after that, and instead began forming a plan in his head. He stopped thinking, however, when he remembered what he saw earlier. "How many times?"
-
Kris sighed and glanced around before rolling up her left sleeve, the one sporting the "rape" cuts. She showed her scar-ridden arm to the boy while getting something out of the cabinet. "However many that is."
-
(After this post, I've gotta clean the kitchen. It will take a little over half an hour.)
"Oh my.." Damian said, before a small grin broke onto his face. "We simply can't have any more of this. I'll be sure to make them properly suffer. And here I was thinking I wouldn't have to dirty my hands with the filth of vermin like them. I was so wrong." He turned to face Kris again, a serious look on his face. "The reason I moved from foster home to foster home is because I was forced to bleed them. They all said that I would be safe there, that they wouldn't hurt me. f---ing dirty liars, all of them. I did enjoy each and every one of them, though. Their screams were so satisfying.. 'Damian, no!' 'Please spare me!' 'I'm sorry!'" Damian laughed darkly, his eyes having a certain flair about them. -
(It's all good, I'll still be here. I totally understand too, but thanks for the warning :) )
Kris stared at him for a minute before a light smile broke out on her face. She didn't know why, but there was something about this one and his ideas..she liked it. She frowned and went back to cooking the vegetables. "They won't hurt you, though. They wouldn't have a reason to. I'm just a weak girl who's easily a victim." She shook her head and muttered "they won't hurt you..." -
(No prob. c: Also, back.)
Damian took a quick look at her, then pulled her into a small hug. "Well, don't worry. After tonight, they'll never hurt you again." After a moment, he let her go. "Is there a phone in this house? I have to make a call for some.. supplies." -
(Yay~!)
She was a little shocked at the hug, but quickly regained her composure and pointed towards the wall, where an old corded phone sat. "Just be careful, there's another line in their room, so make it quiet and if you hear a click, play it cool." She smiled a little as she transferred the vegetables onto a separate plate and started cooking the chicken. "What are you gonna do...?"
