(it's great man)
Eliza stretched out, her feet hitting a bars that responded with a short vibration. Being a demon, she was able to see through the dark almost clearly after her eyes had adjusted. She tried to sit up, but hit the roof of the cage she was trapped in. A little frightened, she rolled onto her stomach and scooted toward the bars in front of her.
There didn't seem to be anyone else in... wherever she was. She was about to search for the cage lock when she heard the warehouse doors open, flooding the area with light. She scooted back, shielding her eyes from the sudden brightness. -
((oh fabulous))
After having a second and third story shot down, the man who had come to them quite talkative had become reserved. Henry preferred him that way. He didn't like it when people talked too much- his teacher being the exception, of course, because if he'd ever told him to stop talking or tried to shut him down, he would have met an early demise.
"Do you know what type she is?" he asked conversationally, ignoring a rather childish huff from the man walking a few feet behind them.
"Not a clue. She'd been haunting the same spot for a few weeks. Had a few victims. Tried to do Michaelus in." he chuckled, the kind of chuckle one did when something was meant to be well against common sense. Henry joined in with no enthusiasm. He really didn't believe Michaelus was nearly as impressive as his teacher seemed to think. Maybe he was cool by old timey standards.
When he saw the cage, and the girl inside, Henry rushed ahead, stopping just outside to survey its prisoner with a building excitement. Maybe he could help dispose of her. Maybe he could do it himself. -
((if you're still around, I need to go
goodnight, Si
I love you)) -
(wait can she have a faint british accent because her home clan is way north of here and most of her clanmates moved from the uk so she kinda picked up on it)
Eliza stared nervously at the human peering into her cage, her heart practically beating out of her chest. She was just here for a few months to visit a relative clan, and she'd been caught. Of course. And they probably wouldn't search for her, because no one wanted to mess with hunters. She wasn't eating people, or even killing them, so she wasn't as bad as plenty of other demons out there. She wished she could be back at home with the rest of her clan. Eliza prepared herself to speak if she had to, but knew it would be difficult. She could barely stop shivering from fear. -
((my replies will be a bit slow if I don't get distracted entirely
I'm trying to finish Harry Potter))
"Hello there." he greeted her with a honeyed voice. "Sleep well?"
"Henry, don't provoke her. Let's just get what we need for the report and put her down."
"You're gonna let me do it this time, right?"
"Absolutely not."
Henry sulked, turning away from the cage to look at his teacher, and stomped his foot once.
"Come onnnnn. I'm good at this. It's easy. I won't get hurt."
His teacher rolled his eyes.
"Get the information I need."
Henry glared at him for a second, turned abruptly back to the cage, and crouched down so he could see the demon face to face.
"My name is Henry Higgins. I'm going to be asking you a few questions, sweetheart, and I just need you to answer them. You'll note that you were not made aware of your rights, and that's because you don't have them. If I hear you mention the word 'lawyer' once, I'm probably going to hit you with a baton." -
She hissed at him, then choked out a few words. "Eliza Doolittle. Go f--- yourself, I'm not saying anything else." It was rushed and higher than her average tone, and for all she knew it wasn't clear enough for him to understand, but she wasn't going to say anything else. Despite the fact that she wasn't in a situation to really assert herself in any way other than glaring up at him, she crossed her arms underneath her and angrily kicked back at the cage a few times.
-
Henry stared at her for a second and blinked. It wasn't unusual for caged demons to kick around and try to get control of the situation. The kicking, the glaring, and the crossed arms were all, as far as he was concerned, just shows of desperation.
"I.. I'm sorry." he turned back to his teacher and their guest. "There were words in that somewhere, right? Did anyone catch that?"
"I got Eliza Doolittle." said his teacher, holding up a clipboard and writing the name down (and misspelling the last name, at that).
"I heard 'go f--- yourself'." Mr. Bowing said with a smirk.
Henry opened his mouth as if shocked and turned back to Eliza.
"How rude!" he exclaimed. "Now I don't even want to try and make friendly conversation with you- you see what you've done? This is going to be very boring for you."
Having not understood the last bit about not saying anything else, he went ahead with his questions.
"Now, how old are you, Eliza Doolittle?" -
She hissed again but remained silent. This human couldn't make her do anything, in fact, none of them could.
Eliza slowly started to realize where exactly she was. It was a warehouse, one that appeared to have been rebuilt recently. On the walls were an assortment of outdated traps and weapons that made her shudder involuntary-- though they appeared to be more for show or to strike fear into the hearts of those they captured. For Eliza, they were most certainly working. There were quite a few other cages, though they were spread out and appeared to be vacant. Behind her, rows of shelves reaching the roof held crates of what she assumed were modern tools of the hunters' trade. Lastly, she noticed a separate space off in one of the corners that appeared to be an office. It didn't look very big, especially since it was crowded with filing cabinets which probably held most of the records. She wasn't going to let them write down her information and shove it in one of the drawers, consolidate her life into a few sheets of paper to yellow over the years, untouched. She couldn't.
(Sorry if my responses are short I only have Eliza) -
Henry allowed her a few moments to reconsider her insubordination, but she seemed intent on not answering.
"Well." he said, clapping his hands together once and smiling brightly at the demon. "I'd like to say I don't want to have to hurt you, but I'd really like to hurt you, so whether you answer or not, I'm still winning here."
His teacher snorted behind him. Henry kept up his toxic smile as he glanced over his shoulder at him.
"Problem?"
"Just your usual arrogance. I should be used to it by now."
"It's not arrogance if it's well-founded."
His teacher rolled his eyes again. Henry narrowed his eyes and turned back to Eliza with a grumble.
"Last chance before I get the pepper spray and make you wish you were dead. How old are you?" -
She spat at him and scooted back away from him. He couldn't make her do anything. He could get the pepper spray if he wanted, she'd been through worse. Eliza planned her next words, doing her best to make sure they understood. There would be no coming to a consensus on her next statement. It would be clear and perfectly understandable. She spoke slowly, pronouncing each syllable clearly.
"You can't make me do anything." -
Henry smiled.
"I really hoped you'd say something like that."
"I wouldn't have thought she could say anything at all, the way she sounds."
"I think it's positively delightful." Henry said as he straightened up, shrugging. "As opposed to how women regularly sound when they can actually string words together."
Mr. Bowing snorted, but Henry's teacher looked almost disgusted.
"There's no reason to start torturing the poor mongrel. She's practically an animal. She doesn't understand what's going on around her at all."
"Demons have the capacity to look and behave human. She's chosen to be this stupid."
"Stupid isn't the word for it. I don't want you torturing her."
Henry sighed impatiently.
"Fine then. What do you suggest?"
"Try being less abrasive first." -
"I can understand you perfectly. The language itself is difficult to pronounce," she replied, offended. Again, her words were rushed, causing her to disregard her Ps and Ts in most places and replace them with blends. These humans were idiots, not her. And she was most certainly not an animal.
-
"Obviously it's not," Henry began, and ignored an aggravated sigh from his teacher. "I'm speaking it just fine."
"You were brought up speaking it." muttered his teacher behind him.
"It's not difficult."
"Maybe I should do this instead."
"I've got it."
Henry was getting irritated. This b---- was making him look back. He kicked out at the bars of the cage, frustrated.
"Look, what's it gonna take for you to answer me?" -
Eliza yelped when the cage was kicked, but managed to keep herself composed. Again, her words came out slowly, as she wanted him to understand. She scooted forward, looking up at him. Damn, he looked tall from down there. It was kind of hard to stand up to someone who was prepared to kill her, and would even take pleasure in doing so. "I'm not saying anything until you let me out." Again, certain letter sounds were disregarded.

((
"Oh." Henry said with a frown, straightening up. He bit his bottom lip and tried to look concerned. "Well, you see, that's most certainly out of the question. A demon with space to run will take advantage. No, you're going to have to stay in there, I'm afraid. Maybe you'll learn how to speak properly if you sit there and listen long enough."
"Henry, stop playing around."
"I'm not playing around."
"We can't wrap this up without the necessary information."
"Fine."
Henry looked down at the demon with a contemptuous smile.
"If you won't run off- and I wouldn't suggest that you do; the entire outside of this warehouse is fully secured and you won't make it ten feet- then I suppose you can come out."
