(I shall start it now.)
"MOM! Ty's bugging me!" Tyler Logheed's younger sister, Alissa, said. "Stop bugging your sister and help me set the table." Mrs. Logheed said before getting some plates and cups. Tyler helped her, setting things on the table in the kitchen. "When's dad coming back?" He asked, before taking a seat next to Alissa. His mother said, "I don't know. But hopefully soon. It is your eighteenth birthday today, after all." Tyler stood up and walked to the front door, trying to get a good view of the laboratory in the distance. He sighed and walked back into the kitchen. -
Scorch sat on the deck railing, hoping to see something more interesting than the TV. "You know, you could try to interact with your cousin, Sierra."
My name's Scorch, mom." She threw a stick as far as she could, aiming for her beihbor's house. "It's not like people here would care though..." -
Tyler was snapped out of his thoughts by the small pain in his arm. He looked over to see Alissa pinching him. "Two.. three.. fifteen more to go, Ty-o!" He pulled his arm back after a few more. "Ow, that kinda hurt, you know." He said, before he pinched her back. "Hey, it isn't my birthday!" She said before looking at the cake on the counter. "Dad, hurry up!" Tyler and Alissa said simultaneously.
-
Scorch slid off the railing, stepping towards the road. It was almost dinnertime, but a seventeen year old could stay out late. She walked along, thinking about her reputation-one to be remembered with the name. She thought about stopping it, when her mother called her. "Come watch the news!"
-
No sooner had they said those words that there was a huge earthquake, and what sounded like an explosion. Mrs. Logheed looked worriedly out the window, then ran into the living room, Ty and Alissa following. Mrs. Logheed turned the T.V on, and saw there was a news report. "Good evening, and welcome to the special News Bulletin. I'm Rob Grim and I will be covering what just happened." The scene changes to an image of the lab, up in flames and almost completely destroyed. "It appears that there was an explosion that rattled the whole town. Firefighters are on the scene trying to calm the flames down. So far, no words as of yet on survivors."

Also, I'm changing it from Scorch to Ember. It just souds better.)
Before Ember could answer, a large tremble shook the street, as a building on the distance went up in flames. She ran home, to a special news report, wich said no survivers. "Nobody leaves this house," Her mom said. "Get to the dining room." -
