God he was cute but surely he didn't think I was that dumb. " Oh yeah that makes total sense! Or maybe just maybe you're something other than mundane. Maybe you're a shadow hunter."

He raised an eyebrow at her. "You know what a shadow hunter is?" He scoffed at her and headed towards the Institute that he lived in with his teacher and fellow shadow hunters in training.

I started to follow him. "Yes..well kind of..I know of them". I stepped in front of him quickly "And I know I am one...I've just never met another one before now...other then my dead beat mom who left me when I was two." I looked up into his somber eyes knowing mine were filled with pain.

He sighed and grabbed her waist in both hands and picked her up. "Then your coming with me missy." He said drawling a fake southern drawl and hefting her over his shoulder.

I didn't expect what happened next so I started to laugh a little bit then I got curious "We never really introduced ourselves did we? My name is Violet."

"Jaxon." He said walking down the street. "How's the view back there?" He asked her with a grin. He noticed they where almost to their destination.

I smiled "That's a nice name and oh it's marvelous."

"Good to know. Now I can stop doing squats." He lowers her to the ground and looks up at what appears to be a broken down hotel that was super crappy. "What do you see?" He asked looking down at her.

I laughed then turned to look at the building. "I see a grand building ..with pillars, stairs, and marble...it's beautiful."

"Good." He walked inside and tugged her behind him. A 18 year old guy walked in with black hair and deep brown eyes. "Jaxon where the hell have you been?" He glared at him. Jaxon shrugged and pointed at her, "I found myself a new toy." He shrugged.

I shot Jaxon a look of disdain. And examined the boy ranting at him.

"Zac, meet Violet. Violet, Zac." Jaxon kicked off his shoes and looked around. "Well you can take care of her." Zac huffed and stalked away. Jaxon shrugged and looked at Violet, "Sorry. He's a b---- sometimes." He starts to walk towards the kitchen and motions for her to follow him.

"It's ok I'm used to b----es." I said shrugging. I followed him into the kitchen feeling like I was in a strangers home.

Jaxon started to load up on food happily. "We can kick it in my room until Doc comes home." Once he felt satisfied with his pickings he headed towards an older looking elevator and stepped inside. "Come on. I need a shower." He pushed the fourth floor an up they went.
