Jaxon let his fangs sink deeper before giving a sharp jerk, ripping Derricks throat out. With hunched shoulders he glared down at the bloody mess. Letting his shoulders fall in defeat he lifted his muzzle to the sky and let out a long, sad, errie howl. His companions took suit.
-
Flight joined the howl, although she stared at the body with slight horror. Derrick, the person who had abused her in physical, mental and emotional ways, was dead. She was relieved, but also shocked and terrified. He'd been a part of her life for so long.
-
Jaxon stood still as rain started to fall. He limped over to his group, favoring his hind leg. He buried his face into the black wolfs pelt. Goo. Jaxon shifted and picked up his friend. He started to walk back home as the others started to slink ahead.
-
Flight followed, hanging her head low. She hadn't been there when Goo had fallen, but she could sense Jaxon's intense sadness.
-
Soon, the other wolves pulled ahead as they started running. Jaxon on the other hand walked back slowly as the rain soaked him but he didn't care. He had his head bowed.
-
Flight didn't run ahead, instead walking besides Jaxon without a word, offering her presence as comfort.
-
Once they got to the hotel he walked inside, holding the door for Flight. He closed the door and then laid Goo down on a wooden table. Instead of a black wolf there's was just plain Goo with a knife slash in his heart. Jaxon back away and headed upstairs for the others to morn. They would do the burning tomorrow.
-
Flight left him alone for the meantime. Upstairs, Lara stood there. "What happened?" She asked, instantly sensing his exhausted sadness.
-
"Goo died. We saved the Sisters." He was shaking from his extreme coldness. "Derricks dead."
-
Lara gently pulled him into a hug without another word, wrapping her arms around him warmly.
-
Even though he was taller, he slumped into her arms grateful for it.
-
Lara kissed the top of his forehead. "How long have you known Goo?"
-
"Since I was seven." He shrugged. "He was one of the boys that came into the doors of the orphanage and never left."
-
"I'm sorry." Lara said, looking at him with a mixture of sadness and pride.
-
Jaxon nodded slightly. "I'm going to take a shower." He said quietly and pulled away heading to his room next door.
