Sophia woke the next morning. Ah, Saturday. Oh how she loved Saturday. She got out of bed and headed downstairs for breakfast. After eating she called over Otis and headed outside for a walk. -
Chase woke up over the covers, his body slouching off the bed. Saturday. Finally. He got out of bed and walked to his brother's room. He shook his shoulder gently. "Hey kid, wake up. Dad's gone."

Rose102 NoviceShe headed down the street. As she walked she glanced at Chases house. As she was distracted her hold on the leash loosened and Otis shot away, madly barking at some squirrels that had been skittering around on Chase's lawn. "No! Otis! Come back!" She yelled, chasing after him.

"Great....I love Saturdays....." his brother mumbled. Chase heard a crash in the kitchen. "Hey you! Get off my lawn, you mutt!" his dad yelled through the door, before slamming it shut. Chase rolled his eyes and turning around, walking back to his brother's room. "Nevermind.....looks like he didn't leave yet." He mumbled. His dad always went out on the weekends. To meet up with his friends, so they could party and drink for 2 days straight.

He though he heard Sohpia's voice, but he shrugged it off. "Wake me up when he's gone...." Jake mumbled. Chase chuckled and went back to his room.

He fell back onto his bed and fell asleep again.

As she walked she saw a girl her age walking towards her. Amber. Ever since she could remember they had hated each other. Stupid, bratty, but somehow perfect Amber. Once they got to each other Sophia noticed that Amber was holding a tray of cookies. Sophia rolled her eyes. "What good deed are you doing today, Amber?" Amber laughed. "Girl, I'd slap you but that would be animal abuse. My mom is making me deliver these cookies to the new neighbors." And with that Amber pushed her away, causing Sophia to trip and land in a puddle. Angrily she watched Amber prance away towards his house and ring the bell. -
(I'm really tempted to just run outside and roll around in it.)

Chase's dad stumbled towards the door. He opened it and leaned against the doorframe, holding a can of beer. He raised an eyebrow at the girl in front of him, strongly resembling Chase. He looked like an older version of him. "What?" he asked angrily.
