Roleplaying:
Harrow: *runs away from guards* *trips, falling into lake*
Soaping:
Harrow held back a chocked scream as an arrow went past his head, hitting a tree instead. He was running for his life. Several of the King's guards were behind him now, their shouts and cries of the hunt ringing in his ears. "Oh, I'll never get away from them in time!" He cried out. Suddenly, he felt his legs give way as he tripped over a rock, and he fell sideways into a lake he hadn't noticed before. -

IHLAOY NewbieWow, Dark's post actually explains a lot about why some the threads here are pretty terrible.
Unloving, listen to me and understand, it is never acceptable to use asterisk to display actions. Never. It's lazy, boring, simple and condenses characters and plots to dot points. This is a thing that is very, very bad in a team based activity.
Also, there is no difference between 'soaping' and roleplaying. What does soaping even stand for? Prosing would be a better term, because of all the prose you write out.
Now if you wanted, I could give some advice, but I feel it would be a little...wasted in a place like this. -

I soap more then I RP. I actually never RP. People call soaps RPs so I've gotten used to calling it that. Lol

Rping is easy as dark pointed out, soaping is difficult, but can be easy. Me personally I like the astrals because I can actually show action when I don't want to explain all that the person I am rping as is doing.
