I grew up in the church and this is what I see.
-They act like they're the best.
-They don't accept/care about people in other religions.
-They aren't very active in the commnity.
-Then there are idiots who say they are "Christians," then go out and get drunk and murder.
-They don't accept people who have a history of crimes.
These are just a few. So if you were wondering, there you go. -
-When they are active in the community, it's to gain favor with their god, not because they want better for the community.
That's what I've gotten out of my church, anyway. -
-They try and convert people because they think they will go to heaven not for the person's well being
-
These are wrong. True, some of the people are like that. But not every single one. I'm nothing like that and I'm Catholic.

dw1996 NewbieYou know, I don't think I agree with these.
1. "They act like they're the best". Maybe sometimes, but most Christians I know of are very humble people.
2. "They don't accept/care about people in other religions". Christians sheltered Jews during the Holocaust, so they do care about people of other faiths. Also the soldiers we have in Iraq and Afghanistan are mostly Christian, and they protect Muslim civilians every day.
3. "They aren't very active in the community". Clearly you don't know any Catholics. It's written into the religion that you have to do good works in the community, and Catholics more than live up to that.
4. "There are idiots who say they are Christian then get drunk and murder people". Alot of people call themselves Christian but don't go to church or pray or anything like that. Calling yourself something does not make it true. For example, I can claim I am a turtle, but that will not make me a turtle.
5. "They don't accept people who have a history of crimes". And you would? I see no moral wrong in shunning criminals.
6. "When they are active in the community, it is only to gain favor with their god". This is false. I've met many Christians who have a genuine concern for the welfare of the community.
7. "They try to convert people so they can go to heaven, not for the other person's well being". Again, this is not true. Christians who convert others are concerned with that person's well-being more often than not.
I don't agree with Christianity or religion, but it isn't fair to smear an entire group of people because you don't like their religion. -
Dw, I want to know where you live. Because none of those are true down here where I live.:I
-
That's untrue where I am. xP

I'm a Christian and I don't act like I'm the best and neither do the rest of the people I know at my church and others.
-"They act like they're the best." I don't know any Christians who act like they're on the top of the world and better than those around them. Rather, they bring themselves down a level and approach God humbly. Christians realise how tiny they are compared to God and recognise that God has rescued them from eternal separation.
-"They don't accept/care about people in other religions." People from my church travelled to poorer countries and helped out in the muslim communities. In particular they helped out children and single mum's.
-"They aren't very active in the community." I also strongly disagree with this. People I know are always willing to help out. Whether for the homeless, retarded or children's birthday parties.
-"Then there are idiots who say they are "Christians," then go out and get drunk and murder." Clearly these people are not Christian and say they are because they perhaps live in a Christian country and follow no other religion. They have not looked into what being a Christian truly means and therefore have not responded in a good manner.
-"They don't accept people who have a history of crimes." As a Christian I rejoice when someone with a history of crime turns to God, for they will not be separated from God for eternity once their time on earth is complete, but instead, they will be in heaven. Whether this person is a theif, murderer or rapist, it is brilliant when they convert to knowing and loving Jesus. :D -
I'm just talking about the people who ruin the image. Some people just need to change or not be in the religion.
And I am a Christian. -
They can't support thier own religion and because of this, 99% of them here avoid threads where they'd have to.
-
dw1996 NewbieI'm from the St. Louis area. The real question is where are you guys from and why are Christians so s---ty there?
-
This is just what I see in my church.
-
They piss me off when they keep preaching about why I should be a Christain, I don't give a damn and I don't want to be a Christain again
