I personally hope that no one who reads this is agnostic. I really do hope that none of you would put yourself down that low. Setting aside theism or not, agnostic is the largest misconception I have ever heard.
Latin root words time!
an A at the beginning of a word means to be against or to lack.
Theism being the latin word for belief, it only makes sense that Atheism is the lack of belief.
Sadly, no one really makes the connection between this simple rule of the latin language, and the fact that Agnostic starts with an A.
Gnostic is the latin word for knowledge. So by calling yourself Agnostic, you are stating that you dont know about religion. That you proudly admit that you dont have the education, nor experience, to hold any opinion one way or the other.
I am a Gnostic Atheist. I lack belief, and I have done the research to defend my position.
Please dont call yourself Agnostic if you want to give your opinion. Because the moment you do, your words lose all meaning and credibility. Most of your misconstrued ideas about Agnosticism actually falls under Atheism. You do not follow any set religion because there is no credible reason you should. Agnosticism is nothing more than fooling yourself into thinking you can keep everyone happy by staying neutral, when sadly, there is less neutrality than you make yourself believe. -

I kinda view them as "pending" on a decision on what to believe in rather than having a belief of their own.

I used to see them the same way Britt. Like they saw both sides equally but were waiting for the one game changing piece of the puzzle.
Sadly, the real definition is much more depressing. -
tongue AdvancedI veiw agnostics as believing that there is no way to be absolutely certain of God, and by extension anything. I mean, if you can't be sure one way or another if God exists, what can you be certain of?

possessing knowledge, especially esoteric knowledge of spiritual matters.
A means without and gnosis means knowledge. Hence, agnostic: without knowledge, but specifically without knowledge of gods. -
Agnostic basically means someone who lacks knowledge of a god's existence.
This makes sense: they don't have an idea of whether or not there are gods. -
but literally that they dont have enough information to make a decision.

well, i say im agnostic cuz im not really an atheist. im not sure what i believe, ive switched beliefs a lot. ive gone from christian to wiccan to greek polytheism to what ive been calling agnostic. i dont really like the idea of the christian god, and the wiccan gods and goddesses are cool along with the greek gods and goddesses, but im not sureif i actually believe in them. thoughts?
