I've kind of compared this world and religion itself to machines.
Essentially, our bodies are machines, designed for tasks on this world.
Religion is simply the question that obviously would be raised in a world of machines:
It asks, "Is there an engineer somewhere in this?" For it makes zero sense for there to be such well-designed machines but no engineer.
It also asks, "What happens to these machines, once they are permanently shut off?" Once they are shut off, they won't care, but existence is all they know so they do their best to compute.
Another question it asks is, "Are there operators?" This is the question of souls. How does a machine run without an operator? Of course there could be an automatic setting, but then we would just be automatic robots? And what about who turned us on?
I'm not really asking for your opinion on what the answer to these questions might be, I thought it was a great analogy however.
(Yes, I came up with this) -
I've often thought of the world as a computer. And it's like Spore meets Sims. But what happens if it glitches? O.o
(just brainstorming here...don't get your panties in a knot) -
That's fine.
