Do you believe in god?
I don't see why anyone should
That is, unless you intend to make good
On your claims of existence
By providing some evidence
And thus making up
For its extreme lack of prevalence
You see, I'm not all closed off
To the idea of god existing
I'm just not about to believe
Without you first listing
All of god's attributes
And then someone showing
That these claims are true
And how you made with the knowing
But here'z the problem:
You're not gonna play along
In fact, all you'll do
Is insist that I'm wrong
That I have to have faith
Instead of solid proof
That it's really no big deal
That god stands aloof
But then, what's the difference
If you could tell me, please
Between religious faith
And playing Make-Believe?
Is there one? I don't see it
Both are belief with no reason
And it seems to me that
This is just mental treason
Why would any deity need
Our credulity so badly?
If god would just show the hell up
I'd give MY belief gladly!
My loyalty, however,
That's a different story
If god is a dick
I'm not singing his glory
But all of this hinges on
Whether god exists
Which no one can prove,
Yet religion persists
It's baffling, bizarre
That so few value reality
And prefer their fantasy world
To Earth's actuality
So please do us a favor
And go take some meds
Or whatever's required to
Stop being chowderheads
And bow to the evidence,
Quit being so dogmatic
And, please, please, please think
Instead of running on automatic -
