Thread Topic: Discussions of gods and goddesses

Hi! My name is Jeanne, and I'm pagan.
I worship a few different gods and am currently in the process of contacting a Goddess whose been reaching out to me recently.
I'm primarily a celtic pagan, using my heritage to practice modern day druidism rather than witchcraft.
The gods I work with.
Set : Egyptian god of the Dessert, War and Chaos
Ishtar : summerian Goddess of fertility, law, justice, Venus and a few other debated domains
The Dagda: Irish god of time, life, death, the seasons, wisdom, magic, music and often referenced to as the Great God -
My fiance is very interested in pagan practices specifically of wiccan and Celtic origin. He personally believes in deities like Cernunnos, the Mother Goddess, and he believes in Lilith and what she represents over the biblical telling of Adam and Eve. We use runes regularly and practice manifestation over ritual magic.
I'd be interested in hearing more about your beliefs if you don't mind. I'm very open minded and still exploring different belief systems. -
This might be different from your beliefs but my fiance actually comes from a long lineage of witches. A lot of wiccan books written about paganism come from his relatives.
-
@bingus Would you be interested in discussing different beliefs?
-
Personally, I'm very against Wicca due to the amount of cultural appropriation, and some other stuff but I hold nothing against anyone who practices.
Which Mother Goddess does he worship?
Ooh! Cernunnos!! My friend worships him!
I will admit, my own practice and belief system is centered around specifically Scottish and Irish Celtic belief systems, so I don't know a whole ton about Gaulish celts or their gods!
My family aren't really wotched per say, but from my maternal line, my grandmother and told em that we are allegedly descended from a clan known for having Druids.
I dont really use Runes a whole ton in my practice since it's more about nature, and how nature reacts and what nature thinks?
If that makes sense.
I dont really follow the same kind of way of worship that Christians follow?
My gods aren't in control of my life nor did they create me
For me, it's more of a respect based partnership, rather than a strict worship
I used to work with Loki, until he broke my agreed boundaries in my practice so I ended our work.
I'd love to continue discussing this with you, as I'm very interested in the differences between our different belief systems
Also, Mint please just ignore Bingus, they're a troll and just looking to upset someone ^-^ -
I worship Gaia and Brigid, and am beginning to reach out to a different god who I don't feel comfortable discussing yet
-
I haven't reached out to anyone, but I have been curious about doing so, however I'm not exactly sure how I would start.
-
Personally, I think you just have to go for it?
Be open but firm.
And be alert and carefully.
You can work with other beings as well!
Gods, spirits, demons, angels, the fae.
And I've heard of people even worshipping abstract concepts
That's the thing about religion, its all belief. Nothing is true, nothing is false.
So you just have to believe in yourself as cliche as it sounds
