Thread Topic: Purpose of life

Ok. Listen up. I know that not all people are Christians, and that is totally fine with me. But this is based of Protestant beliefs and my own personal opinions.
Purpose 1: worship and enjoy the God that gave you life. He made the world for you, he breathed life into you, and he died for you. Also understand that he gave it to you and he has all the right to take it away.

Morbid curiosity. If you found out tomorrow that god definitively was not real what would your life's purpose be? It's something I worry about a lot for a lot of people. If your primarily reason for existence was ripped away from you what would keep you going? I think it's good to have many reasons to live and to not put all your eggs in one basket. It's not healthy to have your entire world view demolished by one contingency.
I say this because I grew up protestant and leaving the faith caused severe mental health issues for me for a long time. I thought I was going to dedicated every aspect of my life to the faith growing up, so when that reality shattered I was left with so many questions about what my purpose was or if I even had a purpose. It took close to a decade for me to even be able to examine the world around me with an open mind. I was no longer living in my parents religion but I was still weighed down by all these lingering beliefs that realistically did not make sense but they were so heavily engrained that even still I find myself questioning why it is I think certain things. -
2. Accept death. You lived a life and you must accept your death for it is the only way to life.

It is okay if u no Christian. Not everyone is. I want you to know that it does not make me think of you less. We are still equals. What happens next should matter to our selfs. I just am trying to maybe save people and I mean no harm, and I want you to know that.
3. Do not harm or hurt or cause harm or hurt onto others mentally physically emotionally or spiritually because we each got one life and you have no right to effect others. You can, but it is morally wrong to. -
How did you figure out the God is not real anyway and do you know that is true? The point is faith and trust. Just so you know, there are NO Christian’s that have lived a whole life of faith. It is impossible with our sinful nature. It may seem like there is no proof, I know. I used to think the same way as you. Others I guess are just lucky to experience God. Others are not. That does not change the fact, though. Why do you think ‘putting all your eggs in one basket’ is a horrible idea? I it really was not true, then would the basket policy even be a thing? After all, you would think that there is no God. What did you think you lost? You still have it all and it only really effects the end. I’m sorry and I will pray for you buddy. I do not want you to be offended or anything, so plz do not take it that way. I am only trying to heal wounds or something another. Have a nice day 😁

(Part four coming soon)
What do you u mean by that they did not realistically make sense? 🧐 -
4. Help others. We are not alone on this planet. If there was no one else here but one person, there would be no one else to help. There are other people here for many reasons. One is to interact and make friends and start families and I think you get the point. There are more reasons, but why would you do anything but help or interact with other people?

(Final bit of my theory coming soon, and if you have any other ideas of what I should add or take away, plz let me know! I would love to hear your opinions! Plz be welcome here.)

5. Enjoy. Enjoy the life that the Lord of the heavens has made for you. He made the world a beautiful place for you. He died for you, and he just really wants you to enjoy living. Don’t be worried and upset about how horrible your life may seem, be happy that you have a chance to live today and he did it for you. For us. For everyone.

Idk what's going on here, but I believe the reason God created us was to bring more of His kingdom to earth

@jesus freak. Would you be interested in having a conversation about biblical theology?
I've always struggled with the creation story because it explicitly states that god made all things and that all things are good and without fault, so then how is it that Adam and Eve could be punished for eating of the fruit of knowledge of good and evil if before eating it, they had no knowledge that what they did was wrong? So God created that temptation that they didn't have the foresight to fully understand, and as punishment he creates eternal suffering and justifies it by saying that we have free will and have to chose to follow him. Seems kind of messed up to me that he would do that and not offer indefinite proof of his existence. If he really wanted us to make a decision for ourselves in good faith you'd think he'd let everyone know in the world without a shadow of a doubt that he exists so they can make an informed decision about how they want to live.
That's a bit of a ramble. I'm genuinely interested in hearing your opinion on that if you feel so inclined. -
@Mint - please allow me to casually butt in excuse me
Even if Adam and Eve weren't very knowledgeable, God had explicitly warned and commanded them NOT to eat the fruit. He had provided plenty of other fruits and trees and such for them to have all that they needed. Eating the fruit was somewhat greedy of them, because they had everything they needed and disobeyed God's direct command.
The snake may have been tempting, but there will always be temptation in the world. If a child disobeys their parents and does the opposite of what they are told to do, that is still disobedience even if they weren't entirely understanding of the consequences.
It may seem wrong that we were all doomed along with Adam and Eve, but we share the same sinful nature as they do and that is why we were punished too.
It may seem strange as to why God doesn't reveal himself before all people, but that would mean in order to follow Him and believe Him would require no effort, no faith, and no love. And apparently, even demons know that He is the Lord but do they repent and follow him? Nope.
God has reached out to us and given us the Bible, miracles, little hints of His existence in the wonder of His Creation. He let His one and only Son die for us, so we could have a closer relationship. But we need to meet Him halfway. I hope this made sense ^^
