Awesome!! Another person ! Welcome :) it's so nice to see different users all in here. You're welcome to share any info, experiences or questions in this thread btw too !! :) -
I guess where do I start?
-
sometimes i get my spells from spells of magic (itโs a website) but idk if itโs accurate cause most of the spells are user made
-
The best way to start is to probably familiarize yourself with the particular practice you're drawn to, or what you want to learn and embrace in your spirituality . Some people find they're more drawn to the sea and water, others find they're more drawn to herbs and greenery, or some find themsleves interested more in the stars and cycles of the planets. Finding which parts of practices you're especially interested in can help you figure out where a good place to start off is and turn your attention to. Because taking everything in at once can be overwhelming... Tune into your internal self and listen to what calls you, or draws you in and what you're reaching for. Itll help direct you to what you need to look into and it can show you what particular practices and things may help you out. It could be anything. The moon, feathers, a certain herb, cooking, tarot, weather, an element, a particular gemstone, etc etc etc.
For witchcraft specifically, a good place to start as well, is to look into a bit of the history behind the practice and the cultures behind it. Researching herbs and gemstone/crystal properties can be some good things to look into as well, if you find yourself drawn to them.
Oh and. I would strongly recommend not messing around with spells right at the beginning of your practices ๐ it may be wise to wait a bit for that stuff, and to make sure you know how to do them safely.... otherwise they could not end well -
And looking into what cleansing is! Eek I forgot to add that into the witchcraft specifically section of my post oopsie ):

I haven't posted in here in a while. So here's a question for anyone interested:
what got you started in your spiritual beliefs or practices? -
Hey! I don't think I've gotten to talk to you yet but I am interested in different spiritual beliefs.
I wasn't really able to explore my own beliefs in a Christian household, but once I moved out I found incredible comfort and healing in more pagan and eastern practices.
What about you? How did you get into them? -
I'm Acrimony hehe lol
I also grew up in a heavily Christian environment however I've always been more aligned to spirituality, and never really connected to the Christian religion myself. I guess it just wasn't for me. So when i was much younger, I did tend to explore my spiritual beliefs much more subtly than i do now. As I grew older ig I just stopped caring too much about being subtle about it tho hahaha. I've found my spiritual practices and spirituality to be incredibly healing for me, and powerful, so I def don't regret it. Do you do any work with any deities? Or is that not really your style ! :) -
Oh jeez I had no clue ๐
I totally agree with how healing and powerful it is to practice your own spirituality. It's super comforting to follow your own beliefs and not just what someone tells you to believe.
I don't pray to any deities at this point. Since I was heavily indoctrinated into a monotheistic religion the idea of putting belief into a deity/deities is still really stressful and I haven't found one that I truly resonate with yet. I tend to put more of an emphasis in celebrating biophilia over any specific entity but my partner works with many spiritual figures.
What about you? Do you work with any deities? -
I own two tarot decks. I have an ancient anatomy tarot deck for personal use; and I have a Rider-Waite deck for any readings done for other people!
It's really nice to have other people to talk to about this stuff :3 -
I can relate to the religious indoctrination. The good thing about spiritualty I think is that individuals can really take it at their own pace and there's so many different paths to take depending on what feels right for you:)
I work w some deities personally! Some I work w only for a little while, while others I've worked w since the beginning. Although I don't really pray to them like those in religious groups would, not like that haha
That's so cool! I own a few tarot desks. My main one I used to use was a Rider-Waite one and I felt the strongest connection to that one, but a girl from my work expressed interest in learning tarot and spiritual beliefs so I decided to hand the deck down to her. So now I've been finding the next deck I connect strongly to, while also using my others haha. Have you done many readings for other people? -
I have a tarot card deck that I've owned sense I was a kid my mom passed it down sense she knows I'm interested in the dark arts and magic alot. I'd like to be able to read them well someday soon.
-
That is so exciting Zim! The major arcana is a great part to start with, then moving onto the minor arcanas
Or... choose a card which you're drawn to the most, and learn about it first :)
But of course, the journey is unique to individuals- so you can start wherever feels best to start. Is there a card which you're drawn too however? I've always been drawn to The Tower card the most -
Alright thanks my favorite tarot card has always been the death card. I just have always been very interested in the afterlife and like the paranormal activity alot too. I hope someday I can read cards better.
