i’m dangerously close to leaving my church. i believe in christ and the religion, but the community f---ing sucks for people like me. they put restrictions on me for socially transitioning to male (just being who i am) and most people there refuse to expect my transition and they keep calling me she/young woman/girl/etc.
the gospel says that you need to attend church to make it in the afterlife but… is it worth it to stay in a toxic environment?
i don’t know what to do… -
If you're not happy, you should leave. I'm not religious, but I used to be. Religion is supposed to be a positive experience, it shouldn't be causing you this must pain. There are plenty of churches that are accepting of the LGBTQ community, it's just a matter of finding the right one.

yeah you’re right. thanks <3 i’ll talk to my mom about it. she said that she just wants me to be comfortable, so i assume she’ll pet me leave if i want to.

I wonder where christianity is going these days.
like bread said, If they don't accept you there, find another church. -
I'm sorry to hear that people have been treating you unkindly. As far as "is the afterlife worth living in a toxic environment" I would say definitely. You should be 100% certain about where you will spend eternity after you die, and no amount of temporary discomfort here on earth is ever worth risking permanent discomfort elsewhere.
However, attending church isn't actually part of the gospel.
The Bible says in Romans 10:9,13
"if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 13For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
So the important thing isn't whether you attend church or not, but whether you make Jesus the Lord of your life and trust in him to save you.
The Bible states that we are all sinners and because of this we are separated from God, and will be punished in hell after we die.
But God doesn't want that to happen to you.
John 3:16 says “For God so Loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should NOT perish but have everlasting life."
(I know I'm kind of all over the place, but basically) it doesn't matter what church you go to, if you go at all, (as church is meant to support fellow believers and worship God) what matters is if you believe in Jesus and his sacrifice or not. <3 -
