Thread Topic: CAtholism is NOT Christianity!
-
Catholism is the worshiping of a gay-looking god and wimpy crying girl named Mary.
Also holy water is just tapwater!
True Christianity is worshiping a true living perfect riteous God!
Also I believe back in Bible times that Jesus looked Jewish, not like some stupid blonde haired pale faced man.
And even in the Bible catholics are called the great hore!(Only in KJV the true Bible) -
You just greatly upset a Catholic.
Eilloh, you realize protestism didn't exist until Martin Luther broke away form the Catholic Church? -
Totally agreed with Brittonio!
There were centuries of time between when Jesus died and when Martin Luther broke away from the Catholic church. So you're saying that everybody who was part of a church during that time is in hell now?
Doesn't make much sense to me.
Catholics believe Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and that to go to heaven, we must believe in him. Just like protestants.
I don't quite agree with praying to Mary and Joseph, but wether they pray to Mary or not, they're still christians like us.
And how does believing that Jesus was blonde make somebody a non-christian!?
Please try to know at least something on a subject before ranting about it and insulting people.
A couple of my friends and my Grandma are catholics. I can assure you, they're both christians. -
Really the only difference is the role of Pope/Preacher
-
Yep. There are only two differences I can think of right now. The Pope/Preacher, the fact that they pray to Mary (and Joseph? Not sure). I'm a protestant, like I figure you are, eilloh. Or at least, you say you are...you certiantly aren't acting like somebody who knows what God wants us to act like. :P
-
Chatolics also don't worship Mary like she's another god or something (as far as I know. Correct me if I'm wrong, Brit). So that's not blasphemy.
And out of randomness, what about Joseph makes you think he looks gay? He looks like a normal male human being to me. :/
It doesn't matter what you think Jesus looked like, either. You could think he had green skin and purple hair, but as long as you believe he died on the cross for your sins, you're a christian. -
*Catholics.
Dangit, it looks like I was trying to spell "Chataholics". This forum seriouisly needs an "edit" button. xD -
tongue AdvancedShe's just taking cheap potshots. And saints are basically extensions of God on Earth in Catholicism. A little different from Jesus, who literally is God in most Christian doctrine. Saints, Mary being one, are thought to be ordained by God himself for his service. St. Paul is a good example. But no, saints aren't actually worshipped in Catholicism.
-
Yes because no one should be worshipped except God.
-
Eilloh I'm really not sure what you are. You know that Anglicanism wasn't much different than Catholicism. King James Version was for Anglicans. therefore not much different than Catholics.
-
I know she's a christian, not sure what type, though.
-
tongue AdvancedMost Protestant denominations also recognize King James as their Bible. She's basically a born-again Protestant Christian.
-
I didn't know that. o.o I'm a protestant and almost everybody I know is a protestant, but only a few of them read out of the KJV.
-
Tongue, you've got to have some Christian background because you seem very interested in these discussions
-
tongue AdvancedEveryone has Christian background, except for people of other faiths. No one is raised an atheist. The reason I know all this is because I bothered to research religion before I decided I wanted no part of it. I wasn't raised in a religious household. My dad is a non-practicing Jew, and my mother is a disavowed Catholic. I come from a strongly Catholic town, so I know alot of religious people, and I've soaked up some knowledge from them. But no, I don't really have any Christian background.
