What does repent mean in terms of the bible?
-
There are two parts.
One is contrition, that is, terrors smiting the conscience through the knowledge of sin;"
The other is faith, which is born of the Gospel, or of absolution, and believes that for Christ's sake, sins are forgiven, comforts the conscience, and delivers it from terrors
And there are eight pieces of that.
1. See and acknoledge your sin.
2. Sorrow over sin.
3. Confess sin to God.
4. Ask for God's forgiveness in Christ.
5. (the most important piece) Trust that God forgives you in Christ.
6. Apologize to the person you sinned against.
7. Fix whatever wrongs you can.
8. Avoid those sins in the future. -

Repentance, in short definition, is turning away from sin to follow God

Stardust1 Thank you...

Basically to like make up for the sin, or to do a good deed to fix it up..,
-
No, God gives you forgiveness freely. You just need to ask for forgiveness, and really be sorry.
-
But you still have the sin. He can forgive u, but it doesn't make the son away. Like a scar it can heal, but it doesn't go away.
-
God forgets the sin ever happened through Christ. Would Jesus not do a complete and perfect job and make you do the work? If the sin was still there, you'd never be able to make up for it. One sin can condemn you. But Christ died for us so that we do nothing.

Christ died cuz' he was an idiot.
-
Christ died to save us from our sins. He was willing to take the only possible way to save us from eternal death in hell.
-
He died and saved us from our Sins cuz he was a sin

Sin cannot undo sin. That's common knowledge. When all the pharisees were accusing Jesus of being from Satan, he asked them why would someone from the devil drive out demons?
