Thread Topic: So I can't believe I'm saying this

About the topic of gay marriage and being gay in general. While some people believe God sees being gay as a sin, other people see that God sees having lust as a sin. Some see both. But here's what I want to know if there is a verse that says
"A man sleeping with another man should be stoned"
Does the way God view people change. Does he come to acceptance in society? -
Where in the Bible does it say that?
-
(Ah, found one
King James Bible Leviticus 20:13
"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them")
I do believe that God never intended for a man to be with a man, and a woman to be with a woman and that doing so is a sin and offense against God. But so is murder. So is lying, stealing.
I do not think God sees being gay as acceptable, but I know how he views the people who do/are.
I know that he loves them, and sent his one and only son to die so that all who believe on him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
(I may not have fully understood your question but) Just because something is considered acceptable in society doesn't mean it is accepted by God. We are all sinners. We've all done something wrong. But he still loves us and offers us a chance to repent and be forgiven. -
I think you're misunderstanding . First, God did not create the Bible. The Bible was written by humans. Humans with dated mindsets. It was inspired by the Holy Spirit, but that does not mean they got everything right. God has not been on this Earth. Two, the main concept of God is that he loves all. To truly love someone means to accept them.Three, I go to a Catholic (not Christian, there's a huge difference) church that actually allows gay marriage.
Lust is one of the seven deadly sins. Being gay does not mean you have lust, but you could. Just like any one else.
While we are all sinners in a way, being gay is genetic. Some people don't understand that. You don't have to repent for sexuality, but you can repent for other things and can be forgiven. -
Well, not misunderstood. I didn't know what word to use. You can believe what you want to believe, I was just providing points and stuff for a different opinion. I know what I'm saying can't be fact because it's opinion.

Mm I dont think being gay is genetic
-
acceptance is not love. if a person you love is a drug addict do you accept that or try to change them?
Catholicism is a faction of Christianity. all Catholics are Christian but not all Christians are Catholic.
i think genetics are probably a factor like they are in everything but i don't think genetics completely decide if you're gay. -
To your question, Dawson, well, I don't believe God changes, or his views change. If you view God as all-knowing and all-powerful, then when society changes, God should be the one who already knows what is coming and what we need. He knows our future. He knows the future of the world. And he promised back then to never leave us and to always love us. And that would mean the same would be true today. And tomorrow.
And yeah acceptance isn't necessarily love. I mean if someone wants to commit suicide because they think no one cares for them when in fact everyone does, and we just accept that decision, it wouldn't be loving. It'd be loving to stop them, not let them lie to their self and kill their self.
I think it's a matter of what you think is best for you vs what God knows what is best for you. Not an easy choice to follow what God says, and surrender what you want, but ultimately, when God gives you a command, it's for your benefit. God is always there for you. Always wanting you to trust him and follow what he says so that you can have his rewards and blessings. But well people want to do what they want to do.
