All the monotheistic people, is your God the All-Powerful? I bet He is. Therefore, it means that He can do anything, he can create anything, anyone and give anyone anything, doesn't it? Now, my question to you is if He is the All-Powerful, can He create someone more powerful than Himself? Well, He's the All-Powerful, so he can. But if He can create someone more powerful than He Himself, it means He isn't the All-Powerful; there's a chance of someone to be the All-Powerful.

ShadowsWithinMe NewbieThat broke my head a little, but I feel that if God split Himself into something larger then it would still be Him? Then I guess He's creating Himself. I don't know, funny to think about though.

canadalover55 NewbieYour right I can't because god is not real!!!!! Haven't you learned its just fake but you have your own opinion so

It means a duplicate God? Funny.
canadalover55: Sorry, but I am not so good in English. -
-Someone doesn't understand what omnipotent means.
Omnipotent means that God can both create someone more powerful than himself, and then be more powerful than said person. -
The first part makes nonsense.
God is Omnipotent, I know. He can do what you said, but for the moment before He becomes more powerful than the said person, He will be weaker. -
-Someone doesn't understand what omnipotent means
You're right, I will concede. I f---ed up that last post. Sometimes it's hard to remember my beliefs and how they all fit together. It's a complex subject, you'll have to forgive me. If you will let me move the goalposts to explain myself though, I'll explain what omnipotent means and why you're mistaken.
Omnipotent does not mean God can do anything. In fact, there are several things in the Bible that are explicitly stated that God cannot do. Sin, for example.
Omnipotent means that God can do anything that is possible to be done. The truly impossible is not made possible by throwing more power at it. No being, no matter how powerful, can make an impossibility a reality. God could not make a two sided triangle, for example, because such a thing is, by definition, impossible.
Just because words can be strung together doesn't make them any less impossible. No, God cannot make someone more powerful than himself, because God is infinite and by definition, there can only be one infinite being.
Again, sorry for the confusion. -
oo okay.
