sorry, pressed enter ^^''
How were you raised, spiritually? And when, if ever, did you decide to believe differently? -
My entire family was raised Christian. I used to go to church a lot because it was something I was forced to do. I've heard so many crazy things come from a preacher's mouth. I've seen some crazy videos at the church. I've read the bible, and I generally disagree with most of it's teachings.
I think of it this way: A Christian could read a Qur'an and think it's insane. The Christian could read something that sounds just as impossible in the bible and 100% believe it and vice versa. It's stupid in my opinion.
I'm sorry if I offended anyone. -

Forgot to add, but I don't believe in a religion. I don't know what happens after you die. It doesn't really bother me.

Not offended Magical, what you said is very understandable. There are so many religions in the world and everyone thinks theirs is the right one, mostly because of faith I think. If you don't mind, which teachings in the Bible do you disagree with? Are there any at all you like?
1714, I think you said you were raised as a vegan? Or are you joking? -
I was raised Pentecostal.
-
I was joking.
I believe when we used to live in Georgia that we kind of used to go to church. I had no idea what specific religious denomination we were, but I had a feeling we were religious and 'faithful' in some perspective. We're kind of on and off about our spirituality, and then once we moved to Florida, everything kind of took off and we completely cut out church since everything was frantically passing by in our lives and we just didn't have the time and currently now, we still don't go to church. My mother would probably be Agnostic if you acquainted the label with most of her views, but sometimes they flip flop and sometimes she has a religious take on thingsand she's very superstitious and believes in these mystical psychic fads and beliefs. Otherwise, I'm not sure with her. My sister seems Agnostic as well, and my brothers I have no idea what they stand on on a religious basis.
I'm non-religious or an atheist. I used to be heavily Christian and believe in teh Gary Sue God or Jesus and all that boring fashizzle that accompanies Christianity. I dropped everything once I watched a few videos or a specific podcasts on religion and other controversial topics and decided that I was an atheist. It was like a wire that was never connected to an outlet of fresh knowledge and it was officially plugged in to another brand of reality, and everything kind of made logical sense after that. When I discovered that I was an atheist, I used to be very broad and open with my new found dignity, but now I'm pretty chill with expressing it, stopped giving a
fuÑk and I became low-key with my religious thoughts.
Sometimes I have a tendency to clash with my mother on religion and the afterlife and they can get real heated, but I learned to shut my mouth and never bother anymore. -
Countrygirlz, can you tell me more about that? I don't know much about it.
1714, I thought so, haha.
Interesting to know. -
ShadowsWithinMe NewbieHi!
I was raised non-religious. I became a Christian on February 25, 2014.
My parents don't know I'm a Christian right now, but I told my mother that I thought I believed in God last week. I was very vague about it after she had made a statement about how she'd be concerned if I was Christian. After I admitted theism, she told me how God was "insignificant." It hurt me to hear that because God means so much to me. SMH I've been kind of slipping in and out of faith since then. -
My entire family was raised Christian until now. My father was Catholic, but now he is Christian and he said nothing's different between them, they do both believe in Jesus, but Catholic do differentiate some people with how they're baptized. My mother asked if she could join a retreat, but she was declined as she was differently baptized, like racism.
They are Christian now, me and my brother also. We believe in Jesus and we are used not to differentiate between religions. -
I do believe the differentiation doesn't happen at all time. There is another difference also, but I think I won't write it here. Does that mean we don't have to differentiate between religions? Come on, just tolerate them, it's not wrong if you tell them the truth, but forcing them is not right. Their ways are their ways and yours is yours. If you have told them what's correct, but they reject, don't force them, just tolerate.
-
What do you do if they don't tolerate you back and try to force you in return?
