Well pssscht stupid bishops and s---, you f---ers. I mean, like they probably just created the Roman Catholic religion to get rich and powerful. They make people pee their pants with Hell stories and then "BUT--if you give me your best cattle, I will pray for your salvation." "Oh, thank you kind and loving pope! *forks over valuables to ensure their spot in Heaven."
"If you don't buy this Holy rockthat I just picked up from outside that door, God will never forgive you and the devil will come and eat your flesh!"
But uhh did anyone notice that these were the only people who gave a s--- about the poor during these times. While everyone else was like I WANT POWER I WANNA BE KING, the monks are giving up their lives and s--- to help people.

What I got out of science class- teacher says our class had muture answers on how the reproduction system works.

The Catholic Church doesn't care about the poor actually. They're known for their charity, but it basically is seen as a means of salvation. I think it is glossed over how much this truly motivated the Reformation, that Luther and other Protestant groups saw the Catholic Church as disingenuous when it came to the poor. The Catholic Church does not take the stance that poverty should be ended and even goes so far to say that we should be poor just as Jesus was. It is hard to underestimate this as a political tool in medieval Europe. The rich give stuff to the poor, they get into Heaven. The poor are told it is good to be poor, they don't start s---. Martin Luther and the Reformation I think can almost be seen as a gateway to the Enlightenment, because it effectively broke the power structure of medieval Europe.
So yeah, those are my thoughts. -
