Either-or-thinking
X and Y are the only choices.
You either go to heaven or you go to hell.
False analogy
X and Y are completely different, but A claims they're alike.
Lack of spiritual belief, and worshiping the opposition are completely different, but a certain someone claims they're alike.
False cause
X always causes Y, with no exceptions.
Listening to provocative music always causes provocative behavior, with no exceptions.
Hasty Generalizations
All As are the same, with no exceptions.
All non-believers are going to hell, with no exceptions.
Stereotyping
Because A is a B, A is no good.
Because James is an atheist, James is no good.
Attacking the person
I don't agree with something about A, so A's opinions are worthless.
James isn't a Christian, so James' opinions are worthless.
Bandwagon effect
A does it, so we all should do it too.
My church says you're going to hell, so I should say it too.
Begging the question
A avoids the topic by repeating it in different words.
"So you're saying I should keep preaching because not to would be cruel!"[/i']
False authority
A is a celebrity, so A is an expert on all topics
[i]My religion is popular, so it knows everything about human ethics, the morality of others, proper governing, and so much more.
Irrelevant argument
What A says has nothing to do with the topic.
"Once in heaven we don't feel pain" has nothing to do with losing a part of who we are to be there passively.
Red herring
Using an emotional topic to distract everyone from the main topic.
My mom used to be a bad person but now that she converted she's fine.
Slippery slope
If A does one thing wrong, A will surely progress to doing much worse things.
Someone had sex before marriage?! They'll surely go one to live sex crazed lives without morals or integrity!
These are every logical fallacy in the book. You have embodied them all at least once. This is why we don't get along. -
Then don't even listen to my opinions.
Because I'm not tying to prove anything.
I just write what I believe.
So...yeah, I don't see a problem here. -
If you're just posting to ignore anything that anyone says against you, then you're no better than JITW, PC, or Macooo. The only difference is that you're still responding.
So leave. You are posting your beliefs on a public forum, and then when people point out how fake and shallow they are, you ignore those people and act like you did nothing wrong. Either own up and do something about it all or leave.
To do the same thing over and over again and expect different results is the definition of insanity. -

Actually, science is the act of finding repeatable results. Finding something that you can do over and over and get the same results on; then understanding why.
And yes, you're allowed to post your beliefs. But if you're beliefs are offensive, we're going to get pretty pissed. You don't have a free pass to be rude to others simply because it's "what you believe". -

Because telling people you don't care about them isn't putting down your religious shield. It's just rephrasing it. So get out. If the facade you put up is ignorant and constantly trying to convert people, and the "real you" is rude and doesn't care, then you still have no reason to be here. Get out.
