Thread Topic: Ok...Please help with my brother...Hes a bit messed up.

Yesterday, one of his best friends, Liam, got taken to the hospital after a car crash. So usually Michael would be all lively, and now hes bust moping around, sad and depressed. What do I do?
-
When something traumatic like that happens, he probably either wants some time alone to ponder or just someone to listen to him.
Reassure him that if he ever needs someone to talk to, his big sister (I'm assuming you're the elder sibling) is there for him as a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear, and a helping hand.
When the event is something that recent, don't expect him to be happy giddy after one day. Quite frankly his behavior's a bit normal, if he was all happy and lively, be worried. -
Well, thank you, and we're both 12! ;) I'm almost 13...so yeah. Hes taking it was hard. I'll get him to be better, at least try anyway. And he has been crying....just alone. D: Oh noooo. Ill comfort him when he cries.
-
Also, I don't know Liam's condition or the severity of the crash so I can't say
but if you get word that Liam's going to be alright, relay it to your brother as soon as possible, it'll help a heap load. -
Late ass post, I'm sorry.
Ah, good idea, comfort him when he cries, but if he asks for you to leave him alone, it's best to abide by his wishes. -
Yeah, I keep telling him that. He really doesn't care about words. He wants to visit him, but they told him to wait a few days. So I wonder if he thinks its worse than it really is?
-
Argue. Late post too.
Ok, if he says, ill leave him alone. -
Aside from waiting a few days, did the doctors mention his condition? (don't have to tell me this, if it's good, then keep reassuring your brother he's fine, if it's bad then...just be there for him.)
Well..it's his best friend. A lot of people jump to worst case scenerios when something bad happens to people you're close with. It'll only be a few days before he can visit him, so he can (for lack of a better word) "tough it out" til then. -
Late posts galore, oh man this is not my day.xD
-
Ahh., its okay! XD
So, if I were to just keep making him think and/or know Liams okay, that would help?
His condition isn't severe, not super bad either. But Michael has a problem with trusting people when it comes to close/ loved ones. Maybe I should just be convincing about it all...? -
Not to the point it's annoying though, every once in a while when he looks really glum should be fine :/
He may need to hear it from people other than just yourself. Any other close friends or other family members maybe?
But like I said before, in situations like this, it's a little difficult to cope with, so just be the awesome empathetic sister for those few days until he can visit his buddy. :) -
Okay! X) And I can get his other friends to tell him hes okay. And our family members do.
-
Like I said before
don't annoy him consistantly about it, it'll just upset him even more Dx -
Okay! Sorry!
