irishlass17 Newbieok so this is a riddle challenge see if you can solve it and i can answer qestions but they have to be yes and no ones ok so here it is: a man gets off a boat and goes into a restaurant and orders albatross when it comes he takes one bite of the bird then goes out and shoots himself in the allyway why?

I think something happened to the man before, may be he and his son were kidnapped and his son was taken away and the kidnapper came to him with food and said that it was albatross so he ate it.
Then they were rescued but his son was no where to be seen so he went to the restaruant and remembered eating albatross. When the waiter brought it, he took one bite and realised the taste was different from the albatross he had when he was kidnapped... That explained his missing son, he ate him! He couldn't bear this so went and shot himself.

Is it: He was once on a boat that got lost at sea, they ran out of food and his best friend or wife died of starvation. Someone offered 'albatross soup' as some form of sustenance.
When he ordered the real Albatross soup from the restaurant after eating it he realised that the 'Albatross soup' given to him when he was lost at sea was actually human flesh and he had eaten his best friend orwife. He then killed himself out of guilt. -

I think it was that it wasn't a son but a second man with the man and his wife. I've heard this riddle before but I'm just trying to remember it. I think they wrecked on a desert island and there was no food left. The second man brought the man what he said was albatross but really it was part of the man's wife. Who died in the shipwreck. They were rescued at one point and he went and ordered albatross from the restaurant. When he found out they taste nothing alike he realized the 'albatross' he ate on the island was part of his dead wife and unable to cope with that he kills himself.

irishlass17 Newbie@ blue you have the albatross not being albatross part right but he was allways on the boat and the ship was at the dock when he went off of it.

I'm gonna try again:
The man was in a ship that was wrecked on some kind of deserted island. When there was no food left, another passenger brought what he said was something called albatross but was really part of the man's wife or another person (who had died in the wreck). The man suspects something bad or fishy, so when they finally return to civilization, he orders albatross, realizes that what he ate before was his wife or another person, and kills himself. -
