we asian kids, (well a lot of the ones i know anyways) are very obedient and polite :3
CAUSE OUR PARENTS AREN'T AFRAID TO BEAT US TO DEATH WITH A METAL ROD/BELT/WOODEN SPOON TO TEACH US WHAT'S BAD AND WHAT'S GOOD
xD honestly, how do you think I got through elementary and middle school without getting sent to the principal ONCE, i did my work when i had to, i was quiet and listened to the teacher when i had to x)
cause we were taught that if you did bad, YOU GET BEATING :D
seriously though, my best friend (asian like me) is like THE MOST f---ING POLITE PERSON YOU WILL EVER MEET.. she's so much nicer than me that i'm Satan ._.
we're not about to hit our kids though, a small slap to the hand is enough to tell them it's a no-no x) parents are too lax nowadays, no wonder there are so many delinquents. -
i haven't been beat by my parents in a LOOONG time xD only occasionally if i piss off my dad he will threaten to beat me with his belt
it's been years since i've pissed him off that badly, so i'm doing something right, right? :'D -

I rarely get punished, but that's mainly because I hardly ever do anything worth punishing.

I feel like it depends on the parent. Not the ethnic background of the parent. I have great parents. I think it might be kind of stereotypical to try and define nearly a whole race with one word. Everyone's different.
